Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, is under consideration for attorney general in Donald Trump's administration, a Bloomberg News reporter tweeted Tuesday night.
Cruz was seen earlier in the day visiting Trump Tower in Manhattan, where Trump's transition team is talking about Cabinet level positions.
Trump himself tweeted about 30 minutes after Jacobs announced her "scoop," saying he alone knows who will get job offers.
Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, a Trump supporter after dropping out of the race, said a Cruz hire would be "a big shock for me," considering the acrimony between Trump and Cruz during the GOP nomination process.
"We all ran together, but there was never a group hug that involved Ted Cruz," Huckabee said on Fox News Channel's "The Kelly File."
"I would be very surprised if that was the case," he said, but admitted, "This election has been made of surprises."
Cruz is not well-liked by his Senate colleagues on either side of the aisle, so if he is nominated, he might get 100 percent confirmation support, Huckabee said, "because he wouldn't be in the Senate, and they haven't been that happy with him being there."

Cruz destroyed all trust I had in him when he blamed Trump for the fascist shutdown of the Chicago rally.

But it was OK to stab Cruz in the back????
You have a weird moral code.
The lies were 100% against Cruz in the primaries, but that was ok, right?
Will it ever be time for reality here?
FR used to set the standard for the whole country.

I doubt Trump hires people based on group hug-ability, Gov. Huckabee, particularly when it comes to AGs.

He would be an excellent choice, but we need him in the Senate.

He could be tapping Cruz for names of non-establishment political appointees.
Trump would be hard pressed defending Cruz for nomination after what was said during the primary. The Issue is still hot. It will take a few years.
My guess is Cruz is going to work for Trump inside the Senate.
This is a new machiavellian path opened by Trump. He’s got quite a few going on.

Trump won. I didn’t stab anyone in the back.. Cruz stabbed Trump in the back when he accepted an invitation to now President elect Trumps convention and then told the people to vote their conscience. Never Trumpers are done. Over. That is the reality.
Don’t project your nonsense onto me.

I’m not comfortable with several things regarding TC.
First and foremost that plane ride to Dallas this past summer, and those with him. It was just prior to the convention shenanigans.
Secondly, his wife’s globalist ties.
Thirdly, his fabrications.
Fourthly, he never denied nor explained daddy’s ties with LHO.
I have been saying for the past two months that the big elephant in the room (not so figuratively) is DT getting his nominations past a rino controlled House and Senate. Just do not trust them or Ted.

If Cruz were out of the Senate, what might happen next in the Senate?

I think it would be a mistake to appoint Ted Cruz to any Trump administration position, not because Cruz would be disloyal or try to deliberate screw something up, but because Ted Cruz has a REALLY bad case of foot-in-mouth disease and is intensely disliked by everyone around him, and would therefore almost be guaranteed to seriously embarrass President Trump sooner or later, probably sooner.
Best to put Cruz on the Supreme Court where he’s safely out of the way.

At every olive branch opportunity extended to him, Cruz chose to undermine instead of unify.
IMO, he has shown himself to be dishonorable and untrustworthy. It is instructive to recall the outrageous lies he told, AND, that he chose to have a mysterious private meeting with Obama on his plane at a very critical time during the primary process.
I can’t imagine DJT selecting someone of such despicable character.
I hope Stephen Miller is chosen in some capacity. He demonstrated his astute intellect and 100% loyalty during the primaries. I hope he is not forgotten.

“Having Ted Cruz as the Attorney General, would make him the most independent AG in the history of the position. Neither side likes him, and thus both sides know he would be equal in the law.”
He’d be so incredibly awesome standing up against foreigners pretending they are not aliens, people lying about and concealing their assets, or close connections to organizations seeking to undermine American sovereignty and prosperity.
Truly, if Cruz is AG, DHS should go to that other defeated adversary, Hillary.

We all better - this giddy feeling won’t last forever. Sooner or later we’re bound to be disappointed... but all we got to do to get over it is imagine Hildabeast as president.

I can see it now. First sign of trouble AG Cruz would call a national press conference and announce that he naming a Special Prosecutor to look into something or another the press thinks Trump did.
All the while with that sh!tty smirk on his face.

Yep. Right now oily Felito’s sealed records should be under opened, and proof of American citizenship - if any exists, should be made public. If there is none oily Felito should be removed from office, prosecuted, and shipped to Canada.

Once you’ve drilled the “Lying Ted” meme into peoples’ heads, you can’t turn around and make him Attorney General! How hypocritical is that???
He needs to stay in the Senate and help carry the water for your legislation and slowly win back the good graces. Putting “Lying Ted” in any appointed position looks very very poorly on both Trump and Cruz.

I hope not. This would be one of the few appointments that would make me lose some respect for Trump. Cruz is poison
