Bloomberg Reporter: Ted Cruz Under Consideration for Attorney General
NewsMax ^ | 11/15/2016 | By Greg Richter

Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, is under consideration for attorney general in Donald Trump's administration, a Bloomberg News reporter tweeted Tuesday night.

SCOOP: Trump is discussing TED CRUZ for AG — Jennifer Jacobs (@JenniferJJacobs) November 16, 2016

Cruz was seen earlier in the day visiting Trump Tower in Manhattan, where Trump's transition team is talking about Cabinet level positions.

Trump himself tweeted about 30 minutes after Jacobs announced her "scoop," saying he alone knows who will get job offers.

Very organized process taking place as I decide on Cabinet and many other positions. I am the only one who knows who the finalists are! — Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) November 16, 2016

Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, a Trump supporter after dropping out of the race, said a Cruz hire would be "a big shock for me," considering the acrimony between Trump and Cruz during the GOP nomination process.

"We all ran together, but there was never a group hug that involved Ted Cruz," Huckabee said on Fox News Channel's "The Kelly File."

"I would be very surprised if that was the case," he said, but admitted, "This election has been made of surprises."

Cruz is not well-liked by his Senate colleagues on either side of the aisle, so if he is nominated, he might get 100 percent confirmation support, Huckabee said, "because he wouldn't be in the Senate, and they haven't been that happy with him being there."

I’d be happy to see Perry replace him in the Senate!

Trey Gowdy would be a good AG pick too.

I lost all respect for Cruz when he blamed Trump for the violence at his canceled Chicago rally.

I would like him to stay in the Senate and then see if he can survive a re-election.

Bringing in any Republican Senator could cause the loss of the Senate - just saying.

The governor from Texas can appoint Ted Cruz’s replacement if it happens. Hello Senator Rick Perry?

Who would replace him in the Senate?

Governor Abbot would name a replacement. He's a good man so I would expect a solid conservative. But who knows?

If Trump appoints TED CRUZ..LYIN’ TED, born in CANADA, loyal to Cuba/Goldman Sachs as AG, I’m DONE and would no longer trust Trump’s judgment.

There’s no assurity of that, nor of the election of that person once Cruz’s term expires.

I want to see back in Canada. Trump is out of his mind if he appoints the backstabbing Cruz to any position.

If America was attacked by terrorists Attorney General Cruz would blame the Presidents incendiary rhetoric. No thanks.

No thanks is right. Cruz is mostly sound ideologically, but personally he's proven himself to be an untrustworthy opportunist. He's the sort of person who would trample his own mother to death to advance his career and status.

Ted Cruz is a proven, principled conservative with a lifetime of experience on constitutional issues. He was a great Solicitor General of Texas, and he would make a great Supreme Court Justice. I don’t think that Donald Trump could make a better choice. Of course, it’s his choice, not yours or mine.

That has nothing to do with any comment I have made. And that would seem to be a situation of his own making.

Probably because Cruz was seen in the Trump Tower, probably meeting to discuss cabinet positions.

Reading all these comments you would think Cruz dines with and then snuggles on the couch with Pelosi every evening.

Get a grip, at a minimum Cruz is a constitutional conservative.

“Get a grip, at a minimum Cruz is a constitutional conservative.”

He’s also a liar and back-stabber.

.
Carson was the trickiest devil in the race.

He even tricked his own staff when he sent them to
Cruz to beg for financial help during the Iowa scam.

>> “and name someone as AG that I wouldn’t be thinking of naming to SCOTUS in the foreseeable future.” <<

I think you have a good point there.

The going is going to be rough. The MSM are in an uncontrollable rage over their defeat, and will be on the hunt for red meat.

excellent point. promise to consider ted for anything... but only when the GOP margin in the Senate isn’t narrow and doesn’t need ted.
