President Obama’s first executive action after leaving the White House will be to take some R&R.
“I will take a vacation for a couple weeks after my presidency is over,” he told Democratic National Committee stakeholders in a conference call Monday evening, without specifying a location.
“But then we’re going to get back to work,” he added.
Obama addressed his party after its nominee, Hillary Clinton, was squarely beaten in by President-elect Donald Trump. Democrats also failed to capture majorities in the House and Senate — and lost governorships and state legislatures across the nation.
“I want to publicly say how proud I am of Hillary Clinton on a history-making race. We did not get the results we wanted, but we took a step in shattering a barrier that’s still there,”

Obama has enjoyed $75,000,000.00 worth of tax payer funded vacations.

That headline made me laugh.
In actuality, Obama lost the last three elections. Quite a track record there.
Despite all the talk about the Forgotten Man, a simpler explanation is that most people were simply sick and tired of Obama and they were not going to allow Hillary to give him a third term.

Margaret Thatcher in Britain, Golda Meir in Israel, made it to the top on their own. Other countries have had women leaders who did not make it to the top based on family connections or their husband’s coattails. But if Hillary had won it would have been because she was the wife of Bill Clinton. A Lurleen Wallace on the national level.

Their glass ceiling is simply yet another false construct for the direct aid of Democrats. Just like when Democrats howled about evil money in politics when Republicans had the fundraising advantage. Then came Obama and his billion dollar campaign and suddenly Democrats were cool with money in politics.
If Democrats really believed in a glass ceiling other than a device constructed specifically to help them exclusively, they would have supported Sarah Palin. But no, they attacked her mercilessly.
Similarly, Bob Parkwood was hounded for office for chasing female staffers around a desk. Then, of course, Bill Clinton raped and abused women, but Democrats were all good with that.
So, yeah, Democrats construct narratives simply to leverage control. It is never anything they really believe in.
