It perhaps is an understatement to say that election night did not well for abortion activists.
Planned Parenthood and other pro-abortion groups spent tens of millions of dollars on the election, but their massive spending did not succeed in convincing Americans to support the extreme pro-abortion policies of Hillary Clinton and others.
Now, they are planning their defense. On Wednesday, Planned Parenthood CEO Cecile Richards told MSNBCs Rachel Maddow that they are getting ready to fight for a U.S. Supreme Court nominee who supports abortion.
A lot is at stake with the U.S. Supreme Court. One seat currently is open, and several others could come open under President-elect Donald Trumps term.
Richards said she fears that Roe v. Wade and abortion on demand are at risk because of Trumps promises to appoint pro-life justices.
I think that Roe vs. Wade was on the ballot in this election, Richards told MSNBC, as transcribed by CNS News. I know that Mr. Trump has said that in his acceptance speech that he was going to govern for all Americans not just ones that voted for him and I hope that includes women.
If he is going to govern and represent all Americans this is a right, the right to safe and legal abortion is a right women have had in this country for more than 40 years and it is supported by people of all parties, so it is important and we will absolutely be fighting for a justice of the Supreme Court who supports this right for women.
Oddly, Richards also mentioned that people have been dropping off baked goods at their facilities after the election to show their support for Planned Parenthood.

Trump promised to appoint the kinds of judges to the Supreme Court that would please pro-life voters. Prior to the election, he released two separate lists of potential Supreme Court nominees, both of which went over well with pro-life voters and organizations. Leading pro-life groups will undoubtedly hold Trumps feet to the fire as he will take office with the ability to already appoint one member of the Supreme Court following the death of pro-life Justice Antonin Scalia.
We are going to appoint great Supreme Court justices These will be justices of great intellect And they will be pro-life, Trump told pro-life leaders in June.
Over the weekend, Trump reiterated his promise to appoint pro-life judges during an interview with 60 Minutes. However, he did not directly say whether the judges would overturn Roe v. Wade.
Abortionists will never give up until the Supreme Court puts a stop to it.
STOP TAXPAYER FUNDED ABORTIONS IN ILLINOIS

So, the CEO of the largest abattoir this world has ever seen thinks this election was all about the Founding Document of her company’s existence.
No, honey, it was about much, much more. But be assured!, we gonna get to you in due time.
Cecile Richards is correct. She was caught on video selling baby parts for a profit. Abortion was on the ballot, and they lost.
“Crap. There goes my paycheck”. How much does this thing make anyway? Right to choose? We choose not to fund this with our tax dollars. Keep your panties on cecile.
Hey Cecile- a lot more than Roe v Wade was on the ballot. Get used to losing.
If the baby killers really believe the majority of voters are in favor of baby killing, they can get their state legislatures to permit it after Roe v. Wade is overturned. That’s the way it’s supposed to work under our constitutional system of Federalism.
I think organized, state-sponsored murder was on the ballot. But I agree: you lost.
And that loss is America’s gain.
Now go jump off a bridge.
Roe v. Wade is the example of “settled law” that shall last only until a party with standing can bring a suit before the reformed Supreme Court, and present the demand that the Justices review the wording of the Constitution, with an eye to whether the right to determine if abortion rights are to be found anywhere in the document, and rule accordingly.
“Amendment X
The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people.”
In other words, kick it back to the states, so the STATE courts can rule on its constitutionality as it relates to STATE constitutions.
The argument should never have come before the US Supreme Court, or any Federal court.
It was. And you lost. Deal with it.
If they’ve got tens of millions to spend on elections they damn sure don’t need any from the taxpayer
Let’s hope so! I am sick of the whole abortion mill and “doctor’s” enriching themselves from murder.
The greatest evil is not done in those sordid dens of evil that Dickens loved to paint but is conceived and ordered (moved, seconded, carried, and minuted) in clear, carpeted, warmed, well-lighted offices, by quiet men with white collars and cut fingernails and smooth-shaven cheeks who do not need to raise their voices. ~ C. S. Lewis

I don’t agree. Obama’s performance was on the ballot through Hillary’s promise to continue his policies.
That’s what lost and abortion was just a small piece of that, as it always is, but not a determining factor.
America repudiated the entire Obama “fundamental transformation” which didn’t include abortion as anything new, abortion is an old ongoing fight.
Obama repudiated America for what it is, a free country with limited government. America repudiated Obama’s view desire for socialism.
Yup you certainly did. BUT it was much more than just Roe v Wade. It was a battle against the Establishment and that includes not only POLITICIANS but the corrupt lying MEDIA.
Dropping off baked goods shows support? Hey, someone bring me a cinnabon.
Trump has been upfront abut his pro-life views. He is also in agreement with the 10th amendment/the past of the Bill of Rights. Issues not related to the first nine amendments are to be reserved for state governments.
The Tenth Amendment has been grievously violated by liberals for about 50 years now. He has stated that issues like same-sex marriage belong with each individual state to determine.
Trump’s first priority will be to get conservative judges appointed to the Supreme Court, and lesser courts. I think he then will take a hands-off attitude as to what these judges decide.
But the first priority MUST be to ensure that the SC stays conservative.
