Ryan: 'We are not planning on erecting a deportation force'
CNN ^ | November 13, 2016 | Eric Bradner

Posted on 11/13/2016 8:06:44 AM PST by Pinkbell

(CNN)House Speaker Paul Ryan said Sunday despite Donald Trump's campaign rhetoric, lawmakers are not prepared to form a deportation force to round-up and deport undocumented immigrants.

"We are not planning on erecting a deportation force. Donald Trump's not planning on that," Ryan told CNN's Jake Tapper on "State of the Union."

"I think we should put people's minds at ease: That is not what our focus is. That is not what we're focused on. We're focused on securing the border. We think that's first and foremost, before we get into any other immigration issue, we've got to know who's coming and going into the country -- we've got to secure the border," he added.

Ryan deflected questions about whether he'd support Trump's calls to slap hefty tariffs on imports from countries like Mexico.

Instead, Ryan said, he supports tax reforms to address the same challenges "without any adverse effects -- without any collateral damage to the economy."

The House speaker also said he is on board with Trump's call to keep some elements of President Barack Obama's signature health care law.

But he won't commit to mandating insurance coverage of birth control for women at no cost.

"Obamacare is failing. It must be replaced. We're going to do that. We're excited about it ... We can fix what is broken in health care without breaking what is working in health care," Ryan said.

The Wisconsin Republican said he agrees with Trump's comment to CBS' "60 Minutes" that Obamacare's laws against barring those with pre-existing conditions from receiving coverage and allowing those up to age 26 to remain on their parents' insurance can stay in place even as the GOP pushes to repeal Obamacare.

We do not need a “Deportation Force” as we already have the Border Patrol and once we enforce employment laws and build a border, illegal aliens will mostly self-deport

Exactly. Tapper is just being an ass here baiting Ryan. I think CNN has gotten the word they are PNG in the Trump White House. Sucks to be them.

I agree. He had no idea. It is going to take years...but if his first year legacy is scotus and illegal aliens I will be happy

CNN. Give it up. Ryan and others have said interior enforcement will happen.

And what do you suggest to round up criminal illegals that are
already in our country and mixed in with the rest of us?

Tell us. We would like to know.

What is your solution? Leave them alone so they continue their
criminal activity?

Ryan’s a piece of shit; Trump NEVER said he’d be rounding up people for deportation.

Border Patrol will now be able to do their jobs, coming and going illegals. Also, those already here illegally can pack up and go on their own volition. Do not need to be herded, just encouraged to wait their turn.

Trust me, I’ve worked in DC. Its a cesspool and political morass beyond anything Trump can imagine. Nothing can prepare him for what he’s about to step into. Its going to be a herculean job to even begin the process of cleaning it up.

Yep. Savage has been saying for months we will be lucky to get 20% of what Trump promised. LOL.

Ryan inserting himself.

He’s not welcome.

He’s toast.

Lest we forget, Ryan held off any support of Trump AND staged a full on coup attempt with the locker room tape.

Why?

Look I want our immigration laws enforced to the max. We are on the same side. We have no disagreement. I guess I’m really just saying if we don’t act with some tact, we are going to get slammed and labeled as Nazi’s. That’s my point. We need to tact. I should have skipped the details because that is really not my problem to resolve. It’s the governments.

I just wrote my House representative:

Congressman Amodei,

What are you doing to replace Speaker Ryan and to support President-elect Trump. I see no more immediate issue than replacing Speaker Ryan with someone that will truly represent Republicans and will truly support President-Trump.

As well, what are you doing to directly support President-elect Trump's agenda?

As an active local voter who voted for Donald Trump AND against candidate Heck because he trashed Trump, I will be watching and will actively campaign against anyone who does not support President-elect Trump. Two years to re-election is not too far away to forget or appreciate your actions.

So, what are you doing to replace Speaker Ryan and what are you doing to support President-elect Trump?

Maybe we all can take this message to our representatives?

Ryno sure thinks he’s going to get a free ride from Trump

Which is really hilarious coming from a guy who damn near lost the election for us with his cowardice and condemnation rather then sticking with the nominee when he was under attack.

If it hadn't been for the RINO front, Trump would have added another 20 electoral points and 5 million votes.

I would call him a snake but he’s much more than just a slithering reptile. He’s more like a chameleon since he can change colors instantly to blend in with the current political environment. I don’t trust this cheese eating Obama-surrender monkey any more than the Libs.

We have ICE.
We do not need a second, duplicate, deportation group

I don’t see why we would need a deportation force. Make it clear that any company that doesn’t use everify and gets caught will be fined $250,000 per illegal. Fines can go to border security costs. The illegal will be deported.

Ryan really, REALLY needs to go.

Getting rid of him would not just eliminate a powerful enemy. It would generate a lot of psychological benefit as well. MANY of the spineless “conservatives” in Congress would fall in line once their leader has been defeated.

(Besides, he’s an arrogant jerk.)

I also think economic changes are very do-able.

Unfortunately, the upside down political world is 180 degrees different from the business world.
