Got a first hand report from a FReeper, DieHard the Hunter, that lives there and he said he even felt it up in the hills where he lives for about 15 seconds, and that there are 2 tsunamis reported “near Wellington both islands”, a serious deal.

I have 2 cousins living in New Zealand, one in Christchurch and one in Auckland. I will try to get in touch with them today. The one in Christchurch house was badly damaged by the 2011 earthquake. I hope they survived this one.

WOW, that's worrisome. I have a 1st cousin that lives there -- she lives on the coastline with a view from the top of a bluff, but I can't think of the name of the place. I don't often hear from her, and anyway I think she's visiting the states right now. She sounds exactly like a Kiwi now after years of living there.

Son and daughter-in-law are there now, just relocated to NORTH island a day or so ago. Rec’d a text message that all is fine with them at this point. Prayers for all down that way will be appreciated.
