President-elect Donald Trump wants to attend the UFC’s big debut at Madison Square Garden Saturday night, but the Secret Service is trying to talk him out of it, law enforcement sources told The Post.

If the SS believes it would have difficulty guarding him there (and also considering that it would also create a security perimeter nuisance for the other attendees) then Donald should not go. Maybe, however, a video meeting of Donald with the people at the fight could be had. Donald would give his regrets, explain how he had been advised, and wish them well.

Because he’s a celebrity too, it just makes it worse. He’s a candidate for political assassination as well as from the type who went after John Lennon. He’s probably at far greater risk than Reagan was both from political opponents and people obsessed with celebrity.

If they have box suites where he can be at the event without being in the crowd, that would be a good compromise.

If the only option is being in a seat in the crowd he should skip it and watch it on PPV.
