Workers be they on the shop floor, in the ware house, the cubicles or driving the trucks respect a good boss. I travel to lots of manufacturing plants and can testify there are few blue collar workers. They wear T shirts. They are however possessing vast skills never before thought of. They are techno savvy.
When presented with Donald Trump there was bluster they liked to hear but there was an undercurrent of respect that grew as it became known that he was a good boss. He hired people that worked for him, and liked the work. He didn’t hang dry wall or lay carpet, but he walked the job sites and understood the construction process.
The proof of that pudding were his kids. They had silver spoons but they also developed the skill and respect to lead his businesses and do it well. There is no better way to grade a man than to asses his kids.

Exactly. Ben Stein and Sowell also were vitriolic against Trump. They self-outed and showed they knew what side their toast was buttered on.
I’ve always liked the way he writes too and as a trained, classical historian VDH was uniquely qualified to see and expound on Mr. Trump’s place in this revolutionary time our country is in but unfortunately Victor only saw the political arguments in the Trump/GOPe war and not the bigger picture. This past election and what comes out of it will be written in the history books but Victor is not the man to be doing the writing.
Which is why I hope they dont read it. I want them to remain out of power for at my lifetime and my kids’ lifetimes.
I draw similar conclusions — 1) Hillary lost because she is a criminal, and 2) we all knew it.
To me, the “razor” question is: Would Hillary have won if she had used a secure government communications system to conduct government business, rather than machinating illegally in secret? Given the thin margins of victory in multiple states, the realistic answer has to be yes. This is not a comforting thought.

You don’t make friends by insulting everyone you meet, you don’t find out what people really think if your going to accuse them of thought crimes for giving their opinion.
Sowell opposed Trump strongly. But "vitriolic" means what? Spiteful? Venomous?
Was Sowell really that? People can disagree -- even disagree strongly -- without being vicious about it.

That guy is so right when he describes how the left has forbidden people to be honest; as Don Corleone says, there is reason to let someone outside the family know what you’re thinking. They have suppressed free speech, but this is why they need to eliminate the secret ballot - and until they can, they need to control the internet completely to prevent the opposition from organizing.

If you take the two (I) senators out - Lieberman and Sanders - then the actual (D) party did lose it in 2012 with 49 senators.
The effective loss to the (R) party was in 2014 though.
Well not so fast. Early on, Hanson WAS a neverTrumper who finally, grudgingly, saw the light. This had to hurt to write.
He is correct that NO other candidate could have won this. They would have wilted at the first nasty attack. And NO other candidate, including Cruz would have appealed to those PA/MI/WI/IA voters.

Trump didn’t tear down or tear up the Republican Party. He simply used it to put an (R) after his name for identification. He ran WITHOUT the Republican Party and ran WITH the people of his new movement. The Republican Party is fully intact, just sitting there rotting as it was when he started this whole gig.
If congress had said no to Bush occasionally they would not have lost.
