WASHINGTON (AP) — Donald Trump elicited wild cheers on the campaign trail by pledging to “drain the swamp” in Washington, but the president-elect’s transition team is populated largely with creatures of the capital, including former federal bureaucrats, think-tank academics, corporate lawyers and special-interest lobbyists.

An internal organizational chart for the Trump transition team lists more than 30 names, some well-known within the GOP establishment. They are tasked with helping to select and vet Trump’s Cabinet, as well as map out the key policy initiatives the new administration will pursue.

I interpreted ‘drain the swamp’ to mean clean out the bureaucracy from leftist fools who know nothing about economics or human nature.

My wish would be to shut some of these ‘bureaus’ at a rate of 1-2 per year. Evaluate those tasks that we must accomplish and - then if they are truly necessary, fold them into another bureau. In the process, reduce the number of federal government employees by restricting new hires.

You get the idea.

Thank you for the idea. It ties in to the orange revolution and the Odinga post-election riots in Kenya.

They’d be bitching if he picked all novices. He can’t win with this stinking media.

Yes...and recall how quick Trump was in adjusting and aligning his campaign team.....he is a quick study of results.

Exactly. Trump is/was an extremely quick study, wasn't he? He's a gifted analyst of people, purpose, efficiency, fit and finish. Remember all the second guessing and ridicule by media that was misconstrued as "confusion" as they assumed his campaign was crashing and burning?

We should anticipate the same rapid personnel changes as he develops his staffs and Cabinet until they gel. He and his staff will act quickly dislodge those cogs who jamb up the works. No one is better than this in what will be an amazing phenomena for us to witness.

“”Are they expecting Kansas ranchers and Michigan welders to head it up?””

That’s the same thought I had. If you’re going to buy a farm and need workers to work it, you’re going to hire experienced truck drivers, I guess. EXCEPT we all know it will be illegals - (s) Just a comparison.

They list people who have current jobs. Which do you find objectionable, if you do?

Not having any insiders would be lunacy - he needs to get a solid handle on how the wheels turn if he’s gonna be successful derailing that train. I trust his judgement to take what he needs from them and ignore what doesn’t help him. He doesn’t owe anybody anything so he’s in the driver seat - some of them will have an eye-opener as they grasp the reality of that morsel from the back of that bus.

Utter nonsense. There is no such chart otherwise they would have shown it. This is the DC political class trying to screw Trump by dropping meaningless leaks

Must be the latest DNC talking point. Axlerod said the same thing on Magritte last night. IIRC ‘Trump is just an empty vessel being controlled by McConnell et al.’

Doubt it.

Notice how quickly Christie was removed as head of the transition team after showing his incompetence Friday on the Today show. He just doesn’t have big league skills and is betrayed by his frat boy appearance.

“While Trump has long led a large business, the scope of the federal government exceeds any of his previous endeavors.”

This is just too funny. So how much experience did their beloved Barack Obama have??? Practically nothing.

“While Trump has long led a large business, the scope of the federal government exceeds any of his previous endeavors.”

This is definitely a low-level leftie talking point. Heard it yesterday from someone who just got here from another country. They will grab on to anything that seems to make sense without having a studious grasp of the situation.
