A US student fabricated a story that she was attacked and her hijab was ripped off, US authorities have said.
The woman, who studies at the University of Louisiana in Lafayette, admitted to police that she made up the story following Donald Trumps election victory.
Mr Trump who has called for an outright ban on Muslims entering the US swept to victory in the Presidential election on Wednesday.
The Lafayette case was one of several reports of hate crimes against Muslim women across the US following Mr Trumps electoral win.
In a statement the Lafayette Police Department said the student had admitted that she fabricated the story about her physical attack as well as the removal of her hijab and wallet by two white males.
This incident is no longer under investigation.
According to The Washington Post the female student had told police she had been beaten and robbed by two white men, one wearing a white Trump hat, who then ripped off her hijab.

The false story was instantly promoted by America media; for the correction, we must apparently rely on the Brits and American conservative media.

Yesterday, the Seattle Times was trolling for stories of anti-Trump supporters being "harassed" by Trump supporters, even though 99% of the post-election trouble (riots, broken windows, fires, rock-throwing, graffiti, beatings) was being perpetrated by anti-Trump people.
The Times had an on-line form where you would describe your incident and name the date, time, and place. Of course, it would be impossible to verify ANY of it unless it was corroborated by police reports or video, but I doubt the Times was interested in verifying it.
I've recently been buying the Times just for the crossword puzzles, but no more. I'll just buy crossword magazines: cheaper, and you can look up the answers the same day.

It's crazy, they are absolutely foaming at the mouth to make Trump look like Hitler, and because they can't find anything they start making stuff up. Look at this comment for example I found on Huffington that so far has 304 "likes"...
"Danielle Torrence · Sam Houston State University
I was grocery shopping yesterday and in line when a man loudly proclaimed to the cashier - who was considerably darker in complexion than he was - that she wouldn't have her job for much longer because President-Elect Trump was going to, and I quote, Take care of people like her. I wonder what he meant by that?"
WHAT a load of BS!!!!!!! "President-Elect Trump was going to take care of people like her"..That is so damn phony sounding it's ridiculous. First off, if this guy was so racist and angry, why would he take the time to correctly pronounce Trumps full title of "President elect Trump"?? and second even if the guy was racist, why the hell would he bring this up on a grocery line of all things and around other people? This person who posted that message is LYING through their teeth!
And then you got this photo....Who do you think is more likely to have made this, a Trump supporter or a leftist trying to make Trump look like Hitler? Why even ask, yet there is the Huffington post posting it as if it is legit...
Here is the link I'm talking about, it's just one huge page of one piece of BS after another......

I’m surprised she’s now telling truth - they don’t do that unless it’s to set you up for the next bigger lie/attack on you

They are so in want of real racism that they constantly make it up then act shocked by it."Hmmm...wouldn't it be something if stories about Trump supporters being victimized by anti-Trump leftists got added to the list of postings on Huffington Post? Why just yesterday I was minding my own business walking down the street wearing my Trump/Pence t-shirt when some thug came by, knocked me down and called me a racist, bigot, homophobe. Don't believe me? Prove it! My story is much more believable with the known actions of the leftists.
If nothing else, the distraction of them trying to sort out the opposing stories would throw a wrench in their propaganda.

I agree on both counts: the pic looks like something an anti-Trump person would have done, for one of two reasons: (1) to pretend that it was a racist act perpetrated by a Trump supporter; or (2) to express contempt for what they think Trump supporters believe. Either way, I doubt a Trump supporter did that.
As for the story about the man at the grocery store, it sounds like BS. The only thing Trump promised to "do about" black people was to make their lives better by improving their schools, providing job opportunities, eliminating job competition from illegal aliens, and removing the criminals and gangs from their neighborhoods.
My local paper (The Seattle Times) was trolling for stories like this, and even provided an on-line form to fill out. And how do they think they are going to vet the stories for their truth? Probably they don't even care if they're true.
Two final comments: (1) in a country of this size, the media can probably find a few Trump supporters who will make obnoxious or racist comments, just as they could find (if they wanted to) Hillary supporters making obnoxious comments; (2) I think this media effort to smear Trump supporters is partly driven by a desire to whitewash or distract from what is actually happening on a large scale from the other side, i.e., violence and disruption by Hillary supporters, including numerous Trump death threats via social media such as Twitter. They will drown out the violence and mayhem of the progressives by shifting the topic to alleged racist acts by Trump supporters.

That's what I did to the Seattle Times yesterday. They were trolling for dirt on Trump supporters, so I sent them stuff about violence committed by the anti-Trump mobs.
