A US student fabricated a story that she was attacked and her hijab was ripped off, US authorities have said.
The woman, who studies at the University of Louisiana in Lafayette, admitted to police that she made up the story following Donald Trump’s election victory.
Mr Trump – who has called for an outright ban on Muslims entering the US – swept to victory in the Presidential election on Wednesday.
The Lafayette case was one of several reports of hate crimes against Muslim women across the US following Mr Trump’s electoral win.
In a statement the Lafayette Police Department said the student had “admitted that she fabricated the story about her physical attack as well as the removal of her hijab and wallet by two white males.
“This incident is no longer under investigation.”
According to The Washington Post the female student had told police she had been beaten and robbed by two white men, one wearing a white “Trump” hat, who then ripped off her hijab.
Here we go again...
Prosecute her for filing a false police report. Charging these hoaxers is the only thing that’s going to stop them.

That’s inaccurate. Immediately following the San Bernardino killing spree by 2 Islamacists (and Orlando) he called for a ban on Muslims UNTIL WE CAN FIND OUT WHO THEY ARE.
The comment was later whittled down to “intense vetting” to determine who they are. If they were shown to have no terror or subversive ties, they would be admitted, but not before. That’s a security issue, a national security issue to keep ALL of us safe.
Rip off a hijab, that’s rich. The more likely scenario is that someone asked her to wear a bag, and carry one as a spare.
The hijab REALLY means “You are a kafir. We are here in your kafir country to conquer you!!!!”
Ban the hijab! muslims get out!!!!
The only way to stop this is to start putting these liars in jail for a year or two.

My daughter is a student at Elon University in N. Carolina. Elon is a beautiful, excellent liberal arts college - emphasis on “liberal” (they believe David Gergen is a conservative!). Not surprisingly, the campus was in emotional meltdown after Tuesday night, with students and even faculty and administrators in extreme Lamentations as if their world had ended. My daughter, of course, voted for Trump and was immediately shunned and intimidated by her “liberal” fellow students. She reported that students and even faculty were literallly claiming that they and their families were no longer “safe” - mind you, these were mostly white, wealthy, very privileged kids! Faculty were openly sobbing in their classrooms as they droned on about the atmosphere of “hate and oppression” that Trump election was ushering in.
To help prove that Trump’s election meant universal oppression, on Wednesday night, someone scrawled “Hasta la vista Latinos” on a classroom whiteboard. Of course, this was immediately interpreted as someone who was obviously a Trump supporter now indicating that the election meant open season on Latinos. In fact, the presidnent of the university reacted swiftly and strongl;y in that vein, implying this had to be the work of a Trump supporter thus reinforcing the insane meme that had infected Elon (and most other campuses in the country). My daughter related to me that people were accusing her of ushering in a new world of “hate” (hate for everybody, per these privileged loons - minorities, women, Muslims, gays, disabled, poor people, anyone you could think of- all were surely going to be oppressed, imprisoned, impoverished, deported, discrimated against, even physically injured ); they used this anti-Latino screed as prima face example. I warned my daughter that this was most likely a false flag, performed by a Trump hater just to elicit the identical reaction that the official university community took. Well, after a couple of days investigating, guess what? Surprise, surprise, surprise, Sgt Carter (h/t Gomer Pyle)! The new atmosphere of “hate” was actually written by a Latino anti-Trump student! At no point in this hysterical mass regurgitation at one of America’s top liberal arts colleges did anyone in a position of responsibility emphasize to their students that Tuesday was a fair and free election - not unlike the 2 elections of St. Barack of Obama - and that more than 60 million fellow Americans felt that Trump better represented their concerns for the country than did a prevaricating, scandal-ridden career politician who really had no past accomplishments and presented no cogent view of the future. Sadly, on our “liberal” arts institutions, which pride themselves on diversity of thought and the free exchange of ideas, have degenerated into atmospheres of oppressive orthodoxy that would make Goebbels and George Orwell smile!
