On Thursday, Hillary Clinton's campaign chairman, John Podesta, held a conference call with devastated staffers that put the rosiest possible frame on a calamitous picture.
The message to the dozens of mostly young, sleep-deprived and shell-shocked aides: We did everything we could have. We wouldn't have changed a thing. You should still be proud.
Inside the Democratic National Committee headquarters, which sits half a mile south of the U.S. Capitol, eyes rolled and heads shook in frustration and disbelief.
Clinton's loss at the hands of Donald Trump amounted to the most surprising outcome in the history of modern electoral politics. Of course things could've been done differently. And ignoring that fact wasn't going to make the searing defeat any easier.
"We are pissed at them and state parties are pissed at them because they lost due to arrogance," a top DNC staffer tells U.S. News, sharing the candid sentiment suffusing the high levels of the committee in exchange for anonymity.

Exactly. They lost because They nominated a very flawed candidate.
You really do have to wonder about these left-wing idiots. There is NOTHING AT ALL to recommend Hillary. She has never accomplished anything in her life. Never held a real job. Always fought on the wrong side. Was a lying, criminal, narcissistic, lesbian . . . . I don’t know what else.
And this is the woman that the leftists all thought was so wonderful?
Clinton knew by midnight she’d lost? I guess she did have tine to get sloshed by the time she called Trump. I kept thinking she wouldn’t have been drinking if she thought she was going to make a speech.
The LA Times poll was bullish on Trump and even it was incorrect.
And there was considerable pressure on it to fall in line with the others and forecast a Clinton landslide.
They really believed the polling, the bigger the Clinton lead the more believable and anything else was heresy.
And a lot more Americans decided that only Trump was addressing their concerns. They lied to pollsters, so what? They wanted their cars left intact.
Just as they lied to the pollsters’ question, “do you own guns?”, too, and for the same reason. Hillary & henchmen were totally out of touch with this groundswell.
Like a tsunami, you don’t feel it when directly over it.
It used to be an objective magazine, even through Reagan’s first election. But they turned to crap not long after that.
This twaddle doesn’t mention any of Clinton’s scandals. It’s DNC post election talking points.
Americans love Hillary, she said so...
Somehow, the DNC overlooked Clinton’s arrogance, among other things, anointed her and kicked Bernie to the curb.
This is what happens when you run “America’s Ex-Wife” as a candidate and just expect any self-respecting men to be OK with it.
Ask not for whom the bus vrooms. It vrooms for thee, Hillary.
There isn’t a democrat who didn’t believe that not only was she going to win, it was going to be a landslide.
I also have to think that voters took to the polls the image of a seized-up Hillary falling into the van......then appearing an hour later at Chelsea’s place as if nothing had happened.
Hillary’s creative staff tells America “it’s only a bad case of pneumonia” diagnosed days earlier.
Astounding that they actually thought America bought that cockamamie story.
Liars who believed their own lies....
Hillary Clinton made Walter Mondale and Mike Dukakis seem like affable, effective candidates.
Three people I hope to never see or hear from again....Hillary, her husband, and John Podesta.

The answer has to be YES. Despite her lifetime of other crimes and incompetence, Hillary threw away the presidency through her obsessions with legalistic tricks, lying, and machinating in secret. She was so arrogant she expected to get away with it.

It was obvious since before The first Rapist's first presidential election, and it only got worse with time.
Even then, arrogance was her strongest passion, well into mental pathology territory.
Her unbearable screaming and shrieking was the obvious symptom, and could only appeal to deficients similarly inclined.
Doesn't matter why or how. Tens of millions of us will forever celebrate her absence.
