On Thursday, Hillary Clinton's campaign chairman, John Podesta, held a conference call with devastated staffers that put the rosiest possible frame on a calamitous picture.
The message to the dozens of mostly young, sleep-deprived and shell-shocked aides: We did everything we could have. We wouldn't have changed a thing. You should still be proud.
Inside the Democratic National Committee headquarters, which sits half a mile south of the U.S. Capitol, eyes rolled and heads shook in frustration and disbelief.
Clinton's loss at the hands of Donald Trump amounted to the most surprising outcome in the history of modern electoral politics. Of course things could've been done differently. And ignoring that fact wasn't going to make the searing defeat any easier.
"We are pissed at them and state parties are pissed at them because they lost due to arrogance," a top DNC staffer tells U.S. News, sharing the candid sentiment suffusing the high levels of the committee in exchange for anonymity.

One Trump/Pence sign in my whole neighborhood. We overwhelmingly voted Trump. I had a new car...I didn’t put out a sign this year...I knew something was up!
German newspapers are very anti-Trump.
and my German friend is livid about that. Whoever says Germans don’t have a sense of humor have not met this guy!!! He could be a stand up comedian.
That, and she phoned it in. She never really campaigned, whereas Trump hit 4 or 5 cities a day.
Donald exhausted himself...Hope he takes a couple of days for rest.
In all contests, be it politics, the sports field, or war, you have to know your competitor/enemy.
She never really knew who she was going against.

They were scheduled to begin on election night when it was announced that she had won but they were cancelled on Monday. I think they knew.
Exactly. And considering how ill-informed most of the electorate is, that is a lot. Just imagine if the bombshells in WikiLeaks were covered heavily (or at all) in the major media, on SNL, and wherever else liberals get their information.
“Next in line”. Excellent point that should be paid attention to by both sides.
Also, notice that the Democrats are all about group identity politics. They gave us the first Catholic, the first black. This year they tried for the first woman. If they actually had principles and a platform other than identity politics, they might be worth listening to. They need to put forth arguments on the basis of rationality, not on the basis of feeling, grievance, and entitlements.
“They cant accept the fact that a lot of Americans do not like Hillary.”
They can’t COMPREHEND that only Americans who are incapable of understanding reality LIKE Hillary.
