On Thursday, Hillary Clinton's campaign chairman, John Podesta, held a conference call with devastated staffers that put the rosiest possible frame on a calamitous picture.
The message to the dozens of mostly young, sleep-deprived and shell-shocked aides: We did everything we could have. We wouldn't have changed a thing. You should still be proud.
Inside the Democratic National Committee headquarters, which sits half a mile south of the U.S. Capitol, eyes rolled and heads shook in frustration and disbelief.
Clinton's loss at the hands of Donald Trump amounted to the most surprising outcome in the history of modern electoral politics. Of course things could've been done differently. And ignoring that fact wasn't going to make the searing defeat any easier.
"We are pissed at them and state parties are pissed at them because they lost due to arrogance," a top DNC staffer tells U.S. News, sharing the candid sentiment suffusing the high levels of the committee in exchange for anonymity.

And Jeb! stayed up for what, a second? What a lightweight... The political parties are scraping the bottoms of their barrels, eh?
And she’s a crooked, nasty liar.
She bought off enough people that she thought she’d be up 50. What you hear in that quote is an angry customer wanting her money back.
I think Hillary’s reach made sure she got Trump in her own belief that he was “easy” to defeat. She “dealt” with Bernie on her side and she did things to make sure Trump won on the Repub side. Just my theory -there’s nothing Hillary won’t corrupt. NOthing.
My thoughts, exactly.
I just loved reading this...
“Clinton’s loss at the hands of Donald Trump amounted to the most surprising outcome in the history of modern electoral politics.”
It was only surprising to the deranged left, who huff their own farts.
To the rest of America, it was nearly a foregone conclusion.
“Hillary might have screwed up the Democrats for a long, long time.”

Agreed, but the DNC is equally responsible.

Not buying this. The Clinton team saw it coming and cancelled the fireworks. They’re publicly pretending they were shocked so Hillary won’t demand to know why she wasn’t informed ahead of time.
What was it Colin Powell said about her? Spot on.
Beyond that.... I know a lady from Cuba. She said Hillary reminded her of Castro. She told everyone she could that Hillary was evil.
Exactly right! The MSM hid the fact that Donald Trump was the hardest working candidate for President EVER. The liberals I know who are “devastated and terrified” by Trump’s victory just had no idea about Trump’s many rallies attended by thousands upon thousands or about how many and where his rallies were held.
bump
I can read Dutch, and boy, that was a full load. I live here in The Netherlands (long story) and have to live among people who largely get their “news” like this. Mostly I have to keep my mouth shut to avoid beinging dismissed as a fool or worse.
But it is not everybody. Later this morning I’m having breakfast with a Dutch friend of mine who really knows what’s going on. He even got up in the middle of the night here to watch all four presidential/vice-presidential debates. It should be a pleasant conversation as we delight in the result of the election.
And yet the miasma of evil was so strong over America that it took ALL these factors dragging at Hillary to make it possible for Donald to make it over the top.
- She was the status quo candidate.
- She had ill health.
- She lied a lot.
- She had several scandals.
- Wikileaks squealed like a pig on her.
- Spirit cooking.
- And moar and moar.
God set this up as a demonstration and a warning.
I think her campaign knew well before that. Why were the fireworks cancelled?
“There isnt a democrat who didnt believe that not only was she going to win, it was going to be a landslide.”
True, with a couple of notable exceptions. Michael Moore, Carville, and the pollster Pat Cadell tried to warn them. The others would not listen to the warnings. That suggests they themselves were also arrogant.
That’s sure suspicious, though otherwise it’s like she was caught by surprise. Can’t be because of the cost of calling it off at the last moment; they weren’t suffering budgetarily. Maybe she did expect a several-close-state entanglement and while the recounts played out with her buddies feeding in fabricated votes, she couldn’t hold the fireworks, obviously. But when the close states all started falling Donald’s way, only then did she know her carriage had turned into a pumpkin.
When were the fireworks cancelled?
They lied, they cheated, they colluded, they bribed, they corrupted, they possibly even murdered. When Podesta the Molesta says they did everything they could, they did it all. They did way way way too much.
