Once Upon a Time...
My own thoughts | 11/10/2016 | DoughtyOne / for Free Republic

That's how some of the greatest fairytales of all time started.  From this line generally unwinds a tale of fantasy, too foreboding to be true.  At the same time they're just a little too close to possible, for us not to get chills from the reading.

This is not a fairytale.  It will read like one, due to the absurdities you will recognize, but this is the hard unlikely truth.  As you read it, you will recognize it for what it is.

You will recognize it as being just a little too foreboding to be true, but also far too possible for us not to have experienced chills.

This was not written by the Brothers Grimm.  It didn't need to be, for it could have been written by any one of us.  We all witnessed it play out over the last 17 months, and in fact stretching back thousands of years before that.

There once lived a man named Trump, who lived far from the city dump.  A barker by trade, the billions he made, then exposing every chump.

- - - - -

June 8th, 2015

Donald and Melania Trump came down the escalator in Trump Towers to meet the press.  An announcement was expected, and within the next few minutes, Donald J. Trump figuratively tossed his hat into the ring.  "I am declaring that I will seek the Presidency of the United States."  From that moment to this moment, as you read, those were the words that changed the world.  They were also the words that were destined to more clearly reveal the truth of loyalist Conservatism in the United States, and how very few Americans still honestly and proudly wore that mantle.

Here at Free Republic, owned and operated by Jim Robinson and his son John, FReepers have come to realize what Conservatism is.  Yes we debate and even argue over what the precise tenets of Conservatism are, but in the moderate to broader strokes, we know that adherence to the U. S. Constitution is vital.  We know that adherence to the rule of law and a reasoned society is important.  We know that it is important that whatever our politics are, that they must reflect a strong will to support and strengthen our nation and it's every citizen, not tear them down or apart.  We are one people, the envy of the world.  We must not look at that and think how much better we are.  We must strive to earn that envy every single day.  It is a solemn duty.

These are the United States of America.  We stand together with our agreements and disagreements.  We strive for a better future, and bringing home the estranged as a prodigal son.  We are strong together, and less for the loss of any of them.  As in foreign conflict, we also fight at home, what the acceped idiology as a people we will chose and champion.  In the end it must be wholesome.  For our children, for their children, for the children over other nations, we must be that shining beacon on the hill.  Ronald Reagan brought that truth home to us in the 80s, and being timeless, it is just as true, as identical today, as it was in his day at his zenith.

Now we once again strive for a new zenith.  We seek it not only for us, but for all the people on this planet.  We want peace, harmony, success, and freedoms for every one of them.  We don't care what color, what nation, what infirmaties they have, what challenges they face, we want them to conquer those challenges to live the best lives they can.  As a nation, that is our legacy to the world.  We want to be a nation that is as good a neighbor as we can be.  We don't seek to harm any nation or group.  If groups telegraph a willingness to live in peace with us, we will live in peace with them.  We hate no one group on this planet that has accepted higher top rank standards of civilization.

We don't wish Arabs harm.  We don't want people on the West Bank and Gaza to live inferior lives.  We don't want animosity between Russia and the U. S.  This is a small planet.  We all need to respect each other and move on from the confrontations of the past.  We need to be friends with everyone who wishes to be friendly.  This is not only our goal.  It is the goal of mankind.  It is the goal of Donald J. Trump.  He does not hate Islam or Mexicans.  He wants member of other societies and nations to respect our nation and laws.  He will ask that reasoned things be implemented if that doesn't happen.  It's not because he desires it.  It's because it has to happen.  We must be safe, our nation's laws to be honored, inside and out.

As Conservatives, we have come to understand that others in our nation do not share our views or our goals.  We have actually came to realize that few shared them, and yet beneath the surface there was movement.  As strongly as we have thought that, we didn't really have a way to accurately judge that perception until Trump announced his intentions.  Soon thereafter, all that changed.  People we had counted on as our friends within Conservatism had outed themselves as being opposed to a man offering up a very Conservative platform.  They were attacking him on point, and the points they chose to address, where Trump was solid, they were not.  They melted down in front of us.  In many instances it was sad to watch some folks we had a lot of respect for, commit political suicide in public.  They were not one with us.  And then we had to ponder, how long have they not been one with us.  If they could disagree on these sound principles, and in some instances devalue the U. S. Constitution to do it, how could we have been so fooled by them over the years?

We expected the MSM to object to Trump.  We have known for decades how much the media loathed our nation and Conservatism.  The U. S. Constitution became a club to beat Conservatives over the head with, as if it was tantamount to racism or a badge sure to indicate one had to be a member of the KKK, to buy in.  "You support the Constitution?  Why you're a member of a militia aren't you!  Own up to it.  We know..."  The media in this nation has been our enemy for decades, and this last 17 months, all the gloves came off.  When I say "our enemiy", it should be noted, it wasn't just our enemy.  Thoughts later will reveal why I say this.  The media hasn't just been our enemy.  It has been the nation's enemy..

We have been treated to slanted reporting, refused reporting, negative reporting, selective reporting, round tables asserting falsehoods and twisted facts.  We were treated with Trump's words being used against him in ways that were slanderous, untrue, and devilish.  The media did anything it could to play up a criminal, and play down a loyalist.  If it was of a criminal nature emanating from the Left, it just wasn't covered.  If it was an off color statement from a decade or more ago, that was headline NEWS.

We expected something along these lines, but you can never fully prepare yourself for the full extent of the incredibly evil actions of the Leftist media.

What we didn't expect was FoxNews to sink into the primordial muck with the rest of the media, but with very few exceptions, that's exactly what it did.  Megyn Kelly started the ball rolling.  Trump was a misogynist for saying what he did.  Objects of his focus were never exposed for what they did that caused his response.  How dare you Mr. Trump!  Oh never mind you sweet dear.  We won't out you for what you did that brought this on.  We know how to twist things.  That's our job!  Sure it was.  /s

Another thing we didn't expect was the Internet publications we had trusted, to come out so stridently against Trump.  They weren't just unhappy with him, they were viciously attacking him.  It was very revealing to see what our supposed friends in the blogosphere had really thought down deep inside about Conservatism.  If the Conservative champion was going to be trashed viciously, so was Conservatives and Conservatism along with him.  We noticed.  We will not forget.

Talking heads we had thought were reasoned over the years, completely melted down.  Was it because they were ordered to, or was it merely personal flaws that brought this on?  Either way it was very ugly.  It's hard to think of more than a very few people, who remained loyal to integrity and the Conservative cause.  Some of these were more interested in the integrity part of it, not necessarily the Conservative cause.  Still, you take what you can get when your wagons are circled, the numbers are sparse, and it looks like certain annihilation is imminent.

We had the main stream media, the not so main stream media, the blogosphere, talking heads, print media, magazines, commentary and editorial writers across this nation trying to unwind Trump.  They were also vicious, and yet in a stupid way, self-destructing before our eyes.  Their arguments were very revealing.  They were unsound, anti-American in reality, and in many instances outside the bounds of the U. S. Constitution on point.  Even the rule of law would be discarded in their quest to defend or explain away the defenseless.

Trump would be trashed as a racist, when his carefully chosen words were well within the scope of the Constitution, but also time honored historical reference.  In short, everything was thrown at Trump.

His rise was predicted to fail over and over.

The Republican party joined in.  What we have come to think of as the GOPe, was in lock step against Trump.  Many said they would not support him before or after he won.  They joined the MSM in their derision.  One moron actually made plans to lay out his platform for 2020, to take place this very day, two days after the general election.  That's how sure he was that Trump couldn't win on Tuesday.  And that wasn't the only outward expression of that thought pattern.  The Republican elites trashed Trump right up until the day after the election.  Fourteen of the other sixteen candidates who sought the nomination trashed him tirelessly.  One decided to play along with a movement called, #NeverTrump.  By commission and omission, everything was done to make it hard for Trump to succeed.

Despite everything, Donald J. Trump worked tirelessly.  He chamioned our cause and prevailed.

I will not be forgetting what took place over the last 17 months.  I have names and numbers (figuratively).  Nobody is sneaking in through the back door, that had anything to do with making it harder for Trump.  They were our enemies, as surely as the Democrats.  They made it more likely that Hillary Clinton would be elected.

Despite it all, Donald J. Trump prevailed.  Why?

He was ridiculed.
He was falsely charged.
He was attacked.
He was described as a man that loved the Clintons and what they stood for.
He was described as a very liberal person at his core.
He was described as man that was in it merely to hand the election to Hillary.

When some of us stated that he was in it to end the Clinton political influence once and for all, we were laughed at, and some questioned our Conservative principles for championing Trump.

Pot shots were being taken at Trump by fellow candidates, the RNC, the Speaker of the House, the Majority Leader of the Senate, various other Senators, House members, Governors, Mayors, Corporate CEOs...

Every few days another anti-Trump story would be floated.  The media, the Democrats, the Republicans, even some folks here climbed on board to say, "He'll drop out any day now!"  Over and over again this went on.

At one point they publicly floated the idea of Trump stepping down.  It boggles the mind what he was up against.

Trump reacted by doubling down.  His policies got more sound over time as they stood the test of fire and ice.  Others on this forum championed Trump.  His numbers grew.  They recognized a winner in him, a man who would fight with us not against us.  They welcomed the change.  Finally, a man who could understand our cause..., no he would champion our cause.  He picked up our flag and held it high as he rode to the front to led us.  They fell in behind.  They pushed.  They pushed harder than they ever had before.  By the end they had won the hearts of some folks who couldn't see it in the beginning.  Some of the doubters in the media and on this forum, began to see what they saw.  The day was breaking...  the glow was piercing through the darkness.

Even as this was happening, people within the cause who could never quite grasp it, were saying that even if Trump won, he would have to fight Congress.  He wasn't a Republican and Republicans would fight him along with the Democrats.  If it was a negative thought, it was tossed over the transom.  Others would read it and doubts were hard to avoid.  It was the most focused onslaught of negative thought brought to bare on a political figure in our nation's history.

Seldom in our existence as a nation, has a more critical time been presented to us.  It was Trump against the world.  World leaders joined in.  George Soros and his global tentacles chimed in.  Riots, anti Trump threats, the physical beating of his supporters, the racism directed at Whites over it.  Trump supporters were roundly described as racist   We have seen nothing like this in our lifetimes.  We will never see it again.  Never will darkness envelop our nation so fiercely as it did leading up to November 8th, 2016.  Never will evil lift it's ugly head and exert it's full might as it did then.  Humans will come to know this moment.  In a global acknowledgment, Donald Trump will change the world we live in.  It has already begun.

By the end Trump was carrying the above entities and the entire citizens of this nation on his back, trying to make it over the finish line.

My friends, he was able to do it.  He accomplished the impossible.

The miracle of this election wasn't that every entity inside our nation except true Conservatives went against Trump.  The miracle of this election is that the mantles of Conservatism so strewn on the ground, tossed there by our once fellow Conservatives, were picked up by the common men and women who didn't fully grasp what they had picked up.  It was beautiful.  It was bright.  It was pure.  It looked wholesome.  What it was were the well worn rags of the truth of the ages, the simple tenets of Conservatism.

Conservatism has been described by the Leftists and the media as some secret society, racist, wanting to keep their fellow man down.  It wasn't true when they said it, and it isn't true today.

Conservatism is nothing more or less than wishing to follow the sound guidelines that formed this nation, the truth of right and wrong handed down from generation to geheraton for thosuands of years.  It seeks to make no man higher than another.  It seeks not to keep some people down.  It's goals is to see every man succeed.  It's goal is to be one poeple in our ideals, but to have different flavors.  We don't have a problem with people coming from other nations as long as they want to be one with us.  We have no problem if they will endeavor to learn our language and share it with us.  We have no problem if they work hard, attain lofty goals and become our fellow men and women, our brothers and sisters.

You see folks, for the first time in many years, the citizens of this nation picked up the mantle of our forefathers, of our greatest leaders, of our greatest thinkers, of the men who expressed our best ideals, and simply took a stnad for what they knew to be right instinctively.  That is all that a Conservative is.  We as Conservatives are no better or worse then them.  We want our nation to be well.  We want it for our children and all of humanity.

To those citizens who struggled and made the right choice, I welcome you.  I respect you.  I am happy to be one with you.

For those of you who couldn't see it now, please give it some thought.  Join us to simply become men and women who want a great life for everyone who chooses to apply themselves and create it for themselves.  We will always offer a hand up, even if we grow weary of lifetimes of handouts.  It's time for everyoen to pull their own weight, as we as a people pull together as one.

Leaders of foreign governments are congratulating him now, that were warning in no uncertain terms just days ago.

Republican leaders now find strength in him, after sapping it off for 17 months.

Democrats who called him every vile thing they could over the last 17 months, are now expressing willingness to work with him.

A president so desperate he illegally urged illegals to vote, has now promised a smooth transition.

The leader of Russia, just days ago seemingly preparing for global nuclear conflict, has voiced his willingness to develop a friendly lasting relationship with the United States.  We welcome that, as we always should.

The leader of the Philippines just days ago expressing a desire to cozy up to China because America's days were numbered, has now done an about face.  He wants to work with Trump.  That is good.  We welcome that.

China, an emerging naton is another entity we need work with.  If it seeks a path of peace and fellowship, it will have a friend in us.

Every peoples of the world are our friends if they want to be  We don't hate them.  We welcome friendship where-ever it is offered.  We offer it as well.

It was these things that I recognized would come to pass when I started referring to him as President pre-elect Donald J. Trump.  I began to observe subtle differences around the nation and even globally, changes for the better that would not have taken place prior to Donald J. Trump entering the race, and proving competitive.

Now he has transitioned from President pre-elect to President-elect.

Folks, even the media has done some soul searching.  It by no means has done an about face, but it has acknowledged it did some things that were wrong.

We know the polls were fraudulent.  We know the extent to which the Left would game things.

One thing that you didn't notice because I never brought it to your attention was a web site where they reveal the betting odds from PredictIt dot com.  Gaming sites have long been touted as more accurate than polls, because the odds are determined by the betting public.  On the Election Betting Odds site by Maxim Lott and John Stossel, the figures had been lopsided for months.  On September 14th, Hillary Clinton was shown leading Trump 63.5 to 32%.  Think that was bad?  Over the next nearly two months, Trump's predicted fate worsened there.  I pegged the site as being gamed by Clinton and company.  None the less, I did not want to introduce something to the forum that was so unfavorable to Trump.  It would lead to explaining my perception and then bickering with folks who didn't see it that way.  I thought it best not to introduce it into the discussion here.  How bad did it get?  By November 8th at 17:55 EDT, the odds were Clinton 84.4 to Trump 15.3%.  That's right folks, just mere hours before the polls closed, they wanted us to believe that people were willing to risk $0.84 cents to claim $1.00 when Clinton won.  Trump folks were willing to risk $0.20 cents to win that same $1.00.  Never again rest certain you know that the participants on a gaming site aren't gaming the system.  The Leftists lost a bundle on the 8th.  I know.  I have part of their bundle in my bank account.  A big shout out to the crooked Leftists for tossing around $1,100 dollar my way.  Much appreciated.

What else have I left uncovered.  Oh yes.

Folks, I want to address certain groups within our nation.  I'm not doing this because I generally obsess over these groups and dislike them.  I will admit to watching what they have been up to over the last twenty years or so.  I do think they should not only be ashamed of themselves, but they should apologize to the nation for it.

There are two categories I will roll into one.  One is the well educated subset of our nation.  The other is the largest income bracket.  Why do I lump these two subsets into one?  I do so because the largest wage earners in the United States are generally the folks with college degrees.  Hey, I say more power to them.  I generally respect people who work hard for things, and hang in there to obtain goals.  There's nothing wrong with that, and everything right with it.

Where I fault these folks is in relation to this.  Disagree with my political choices if it makes sense, in accordance with the U. S. Constitution and the Founding Principles as expressed by the Founding Fathers.  There is also a moral and rule of law test.  If you do this, you'll more often than not prove me wrong and I'll concede.  On the other hand, if you can't adhere to these same concepts, then it is you who are wrong.

Hillary Clinton is known to have been under investigation for a myriad of felony level crimes.  Some of them verge on malfeasance in office and other crimes come close to if not over the line of treason.  She clearly lied about the circumstances leading up to the deaths of our ambassador and his staff in Libya.  She has broken the laws concerning classified information, secure servers, and the dissemination of that information to of all people, her maids.  Her eMails have made their way everywhere.  There are more copies outside the government than in.  And this despite Senator and Secretary of State Clinton having to endure in services every several months for years, pounding home what is and isn't allowed when it comes to classified information.  She willfully and wantonly broke the laws of our nation knowing full well the penalties for doing so.  And here's the rub.

People who were able to obtain the highest education in our nation, for the most part couldn't conclude this was wrong.  They couldn't conclude that as President Hillary Clinton would continue to treat our secrets as a joke, not to be taken seriously.  They made the same determinations concerning terrible aspects of Bill Clinton and Barack Obama.  It is painfully evident, that people with higher education and incomes, have very little common sense about everyday right and wrong.  They are not smart enough to conclude that a brash character whether true or not, is not as bad as high crimes and even treason.  Please don't berate me for only having a high school education.  At least I could get these issues right.  I do have to acknowledge also, people within this group did get it right too.  Unfortunately, they were a minority within the group.

Donald J. Trump was offering legal remedies and sound remedies for what ailed this nation.  Educated high income earners, couldn't figure that out.

There's another group that I'm going to single out.  If the truth hurts, some folks might want to adjust their actions in future elections.  Please God...

Ladies, some of you, and you know who you are, what the hell is going on inside that head of yours?  By a 12% margin, you voted for Hillary Clinton.  Honestly?  You couldn't figure this out?  You voted 54% to 42% for Hillary Clinton.  LINK  A women whose voice you can hear (Hillary Clinton) laughing while discussing getting a known rapist off with time served, about six weeks.  That rapist so severely injured the 12 year old child, that she was in a coma for four days, and could never have children.  You can listen to Hillary Clinton cackling.  By the above percentage points, you voted for that woman.  She was who you deemed best qualified to represent women.  MORE

Over and above that travesty of justice and unsound judgment, do you realize the problem that represents?  Let me explain it like this.

During the election that took place on 11/08/2016, you gave a 12% (54 to 42%) spread to Hillary Clinton.  Trump lost (is in danger of losing 1 of them) six states by less than 6%, for a total of 42 electoral votes.  You single handedly as a group, gave all (or at least five of) those states to Hillary Clinton.  Trump may still be deemed victorious in one of them.  This isn't twiddle sticks folks.  Your actions have serious consequences.  As a group, some of you (and you know who you are) need to, pull your heads out and start using that head of yours.  Further, you need to pull together to turn this around before 2020.  Talk nicely with your friends.  Ask them to please think about known criminality, and how that is different than silly gossip about boorish behavior.  Somewhere along the line women have missed it with Bill Clinton, Barack Obama, and Hillary Clinton.  We wouldn't have had any of the three, without the female vote.  Think about that!  Get your act together folks.

You should also study up on the Clinton Global Initiative, Bill, Hillary, and Chelsea Clinton's piggy bank.  There donated funds were spent by the millions on things like Chelsea's wedding.  Ask the people of Haiti what they think about the funds that were supposed to help them, that were diverted.  Conservatives had nothing to do with it.  People acting out criminal behavior did.

We should never come this close to a total meltdown again.  The stars were aligned just so.  We were able to overcome it, but this was far too close.

It was an epic election cycle.  For God and country, lets hope we never seen another one like it.

Universities
Government agencies
Unions

There has to be something that we can do to stop some of this full onslaught by Leftists haters of our nation.

This was not a fairytale.  This was a tale too foreboding and true, a whole lot closer to happening for us not to get chills from the reading.

God gave us one more chance as a people.  I suggest we do some soul searching, join up to do better, and to avoid anything like this again.

I assume you are a man. I am a woman. What you have written is a stream of consciousness, which I like.

I am a woman that loves men. I am also a woman that loves truth.

Hire an editor and publish this. It is a best seller.
