The CEO of Grubhub, an online food delivery service, sent a company wide email Wednesday suggesting employees who agree with President-elect Donald Trump’s behaviors and his campaign rhetoric should resign.

“If you do not agree with this statement then please reply to this email with your resignation because you have no place here,” wrote Matt Maloney, Co-Founder of Grubhub. “We do not tolerate hateful attitudes on our team."

Maloney, a Hillary Clinton supporter, sent the email Wednesday afternoon with the subject line, “So…that happened…what’s next?” He made it clear in the email statement that he is personally stunned and deeply concerned with the results of Tuesday’s election.

If I was an employee I would ask an attorney to help the boss find his checkbook.

The firing of employees merely for having a belief and voting it should be outlawed. That's NOT a conservative or constitutional view.

If you have a business and you want to hire Christians, the government should not be able to stop you.

Let's remember, we are conservatives!

Mr Maloney did break the law in California, and New York, where GrubHub have employees.

Currently, only California, New York, and Washington, DC have laws specifically making it illegal to discriminate on the basis of an employee's political activity or affiliation, while two more states (Colorado and North Dakota) prohibit discrimination on the basis of "lawful conduct outside of work"

I'm sure that GrubHub employee's that support Trump no longer feel comfortable working there, and at least those in California, and New York, have a pretty good case. I hope some employees avail themselves of the opportunity to leave this company with a nice severance!

It already is against the law. The question is whether or not they will prosecute.

It is also a violation of Federal voter intimidation laws.

There are lots of liberal laws and judicial rulings and regulations, but conservatives and FReepers don't believe in them and work against them. You understand that, right?

Actually, I wouldn’t mind if this were legal. I think we could live with a set of laws that were applied consistently. The problem is that the left wants it both ways.

Think about this: Why shouldn’t I as an employer be able to hire and fire whoever I want to for whatever reason I want to? Freedom, people! So if the left thinks it is ok to fire for political beliefs, then it should also be just find to fire people who are liberals, pro-abortion, minorities, LGBT, muslim, or on any other basis.

I would be fine with this, so long as the rules were clear and were applied equally to every employer. But in the democrat-run USA, it’s only conservatives who are prosecuted for breaking laws.

If I were a GrubHub customer, I would boycott them for life. I would love to see this company disappear.
