Today I voted to Make America Great Again, Build The Wall, Drain The Swamp and to Lock Her Up!
I’m good with that.
Morris, Sussex, Warren, Hunterdon, Somerset strongly GOP in north. Passsic, Essex, Bergen, Union,Hudson,Middlesex festering Rat sewers with a lot of congenital minority Dems.
I voted in Bloomfield at 6:30am. there were lines but I didn’t have to wait too long.
Double negative? LOL. It can go either way. Like I said, NJ is not a great example for the rest of the country. Too many state workers and a powerful teacher’s union. I don’t think Hillary gets the same support Obama got in Trenton or Camden.
Not so sure about that.
If NJ pulls closer than it did for Trump than it did for Bush or Romney than it might be a good indicator of things to come.
I really don’t trust NC and Fl. I have more faith that he will win Michigan.
Ok. Long lines stacked up voting for Hillary, right?
Sussex County here!! Voted Trump with my husband, daughter, son-in-law and grandkids age 5.6.7. I just moved to red country from Montclair which has a handful of conservatives. I always got dirty looks from my usual poll watchers because I can never keep my mouth shut!!
I think there will be high turnout because of the two “infamous” proposition questions on the ballot.
Trump may have had a chance in other years, without the propositions enough Hillary voters might have stayed home.
If Christie only vetoed the dam gas tax, there would be no question #2 and lower turnout
A union electrician buddy of mine who works in JC and lives up in the Hopatcong lake area is YUGE pro-Trump. He says all his buddies are also and that they wouldn’t even consider crooked Hillary.
He also says he could care less what the union wants him to vote.
For the 1st time, he’s actually paying political attention and is really riled up! He’s coming around.
To answer your question, I believe NJ *will* be much closer with Trump than McCain or Romnet and probably Bush.
Very long lines at my polling place this morning, longest I’ve ever seen, waited about 1/2 hour to vote. I’m in northern Bergen county in a heavily Republican district, my town in general voted over 56% Romney in 2012.
Northern Somerset county is getting more people than I’d like. But there were a significant number of people at my polling location at 7:15AM.
With the exception of NH, ME and PA - Northeast should stay Blue.
This sounds superficial but it's a huge factor. Both Brady and Belichick are Trump proponents. Trump will be taking MA and probably CT even if this was NOT true but it will seal the deal.
I NJ is blue and Penn. If we win them, it will be short night and TRUMP will WIN! Be sure to DVR the Main Stream Media for long faces and Schadenfreude enjoyment.
Stay optimistic. Not all Dem voters are for Hillary.
Went in about 10:00 AM and it was slow, I had to wait for 2 people in front of me. I was number 331. Heavily Republican town and county here in Mount Olive, Morris County.
Interesting anecdote. There was a disabled man about 50, who had a walker and a Trump t-shirt. After he was done voting the poll worker started harassing him for electioneering. He had a few words to say to her about his rights, but she couldn’t let it go. She kept following him out the building reminding him of the law, pointing to the electioneering signs, etc. Next thing he’s cursing at her and they call the cops who wind up pulling him over down the street. Really ridiculous. The poll worker was technically right, but sometimes you have to use judgement. The place was dead and he was disabled. The police probably booked him on a disorderly persons charge. Of course, if he took classified info into the booth that would be ok....
My wife grew up in North Caldwell! Her dad taught Biology at the High School for 30 years! They lived a couple streets over on Colony Dr. off Mountain Ave.
2 to 1 in 2012. What is your sense this time?
My town was VERY close last time but I don’t remember the line being as long as it was. Granted, I went first thing in the AM when people were on our way to work. I’m going to say minor Trump win in my town by about 100 votes.
Can’t shake it, but I just have this odd feeling Dems are quietly very motivated.
Mansfield Township - Burlington County
HEAVY turnout this morning at 7:15am. Took me about 15 minutes to get to table & be assigned a booth. As I was leaving, traffic had already begun to increase by 10x the amount I encountered coming in. EVERYONE I know in the area is mostly voting Trump by 8 to 10 odds...
