Aren’t there quite a few Amish/Mennonites in Ohio too?

I don’t understand this. The polling places in Amish country are still the local schools and churches, etc. They can use their buggies. Going to vote is no different than going to town.
This is the case in Ohio, anyway, but they aren’t voting from what I hear.

The largest Amish community in the world is located in Holmes, Wayne, Stark, Ashland and Tuscarawas counties in Ohio. In fact, the Amish are creating new communities all over the state.

Depending on the number of adults you have to move in a limited amount of time, horsey horsepower might not get it done.

If I lived anywhere nearby, this would seem like a worthy project. Wouldn’t they freak out if I used the GPS in my car or talked on my cell phone?

I didn’t think riding in a car was allowed, even if it is someone else’s.

Great!. There are quite a few of them here in Michigan but I have not heard if they will be voting or not. Wish I knew.

They ride in other people's cars. They are not allowed to own their own so as to keep the community close knit.

If I were in the area, I would drive them — but there’s no way I’m going to listen to that darn RAP music on my car stereo during the trip!!

***************
Amish will ride in cars/vans etc but don’t drive them.
snip
Although most Amish will not drive cars, they will hire drivers and vans, for example, for visiting family, monthly grocery shopping, or commuting to the workplace off the farm, though this too is subject to local regulation and variation.

I don’t know, man. I’m in Florida.
They need to get to the polls themselves; I’m a little too far away. Besides, don’t they have their own polling places?

It’s not only allowed but common. Drivers are paid.

I did sign up. Apparently I am not nearby enough, however we have Amish here and many may need rides. I don’t know as nobody called me back.
I think the Bishops ought to get together before the next election and get this idea in order. It is a Brilliant IDEA!!
