A media double-standard that needs to be penalized. Joe Paterno, JoePa, the once legendary Head Football Coach of the Penn State Nittany Lions with 409 career wins under his belt, not including a record 24 Bowl victories, made news again this past Saturday even though he has been dead for nearly five years. If you remember, Paterno overnight went from beloved to reviled in 2011 over allegations that he didnt do enough to prevent Jerry Sanduskys era of sexual abuse in Happy Valley.
The latest dustup began when Penn State decided to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the start of JoePas coaching career at last weeks game against Temple. The media went universally apoplectic over the celebration, citing what poor taste it was to do so. This is the same media that, for the most part, has played cheerleader for Hillary Clinton over the last 25 years and has conveniently not been the least bit concerned over the accusations that she, like Paterno, appeared to be indifferent to sexual abuse claims happening right under her nose.

He will still vote for Hillary this year.
Paterno was a Republican.
Keep ‘em coming. The noose is tightening.
A football coach doesn’t have Billion dollar donors. Paterno is a little guy compared to Hillary in terms of money, influence and power. That and like you say his political ideology you say is not of the left.
Have you ever been to Happy Valley??
Or of the right.
Joe Pedotorno had an ideology of building a memorial to himself, no matter what he had to ignore or turn a blind eye to.
Be is not messed except by pagans who worship a kids game being played by grown men to the degree that it has become literal idolatry.
That ideology is certainly not right wing.
He.
Bravo!!!!! Well said
Yes, but dead men don’t vote republican..
May answer that sometime after the election.
He was still a man without morality or decency. He traded childrens’ lives for his beloved football program.
Don’t know what’s worse - Pedorno’s coverup or his followers’ excuses.
“Paterno was a Republican.”
That was when he was alive. Now that he is dead, he is a reliable vote for the Democrats. Think of it as the zombie voter apocalypse.
You're a victim of the MSM. Have a look around framingpaterno.com.
FTR, I have no connection with this website nor any connection to Penn State save having once attended a football game there back in 2002.

I went to that site and then realized it belongs to John Zeigler, one of the most partisan Sandusky supporters out there. Yes, you read that right, JZ has spent the last few years meeting and interviewing the convicted child molester in order to make a case for his exoneration.
Other than Zeigler, his lawyer, and Nambla types, I do not know if anyone believes Sandursky today.
Even Joe Paterno’s son, Scott, has condemned Zeigler for his hyper-partisanship on Sandusky - enough said.
I guess I like what Ziegler has had to say because his views about the Penn State fiasco seem to have evolved in a manner similar to my own. I started out believing that Paterno's actions were reasonable and honorable assuming that the allegations against Sandusky were true. And I've since moved to believing that none of the allegations against Sandusky hold water.
So now you know of someone, i.e. me, who is not Ziegler, his lawyer or a Nambla type who believes that Sandusky is innocent.
Once, only Dorothy Rabinowitz believed that the Amiraults were railroaded.
Let me know what you believe Ziegler has posted on his website that is misleading or inaccurate.

Having read everything available on the case since the beginning including this and other threads at Free Republic I do not to this day believe that Sandusky has any defenders who are not NAMBLA types.
I can see where you’re coming from MrEdd. Sandusky’s guilt is not in question here and shame on those who create doubt - in the face of overwhelming evidence and Paterno’s sordid history.
If he had not passed away, Paterno would have been charged with lying to a grand jury at least on on the 1997 molestation incident.
