Dear Pastor,
I don't often write 'vent' emails but I can no longer be silent.
I'm tired of the church promoting leaders with questionable values and citing passages from their books for inspiration.
When we have a national leader that has confessed to adultery, ( he doesn't even deny the charge) how can we promote and reflect on anything he says?
Yes, he wants to build a strong nation with godly values, I get that, but he himself has such boorish values and questionable decision making skills I can't find it in me to follow anything he says.
And yet, you constantly quote from his book, what's it called ? The Psalms ?
Don't you know he had an affair with another man's wife, and then had her husband sent to the front lines of a questionable war to have him killed?
We don't need to hear from reprobates like that for inspiration - please find other leaders with more righteous values before citing passages they wrote.
Sincerely (tongue in cheek)
Does your pastor support unborn baby killers like Clinton?
Some are so uninformed that they don’t even know Mrs. Bill’s position on child killings.
I read the whole thing, got it, enjoyed it.
An old comparison but a valid one. The hypocrisy I see surrounding so called Christians and Trump has been astounding and it is heartbreaking to see how believers treat a new believer (according to report) and act like the Pharisees. No wonder people have bad view of Christians these days.
He’s very much against Clinton and leads Pro-life marches, but seems to have a similar moral outrage with Trump. Not sure he will vote for either. Diverse congregation. Every time he rips on Trump I see the AAs nodding their heads ...
My pastor goes on about some guy called Joseph as a !eader who is going to keep us from suffering from a seven year drought caused recession. This guy Joseph has been accused of making unwanted sexual advances by the wife of a prominent man. This woman has no reason to lie and is very credible but despite that the king is putting him in charge of just about everything.
1 John 1:10
If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
Romans 3:23
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
King James Version (KJV)
Good post.
Forward this sermon to your pastor. It will set him straight.

Exactly!
I don’t know - I think it is a good exercise to remind folks that God seldom uses “perfect” people.
“To obey is better than sacrifice...”
Sounds like you need a new church or a new pastor or both.

your welcome.......
Point well taken!
There are truthful elements here.
I see that some who have replied did not read the post or if they did, do not understand the reference.
Biblical knowledge is no longer a strong point among professed Christians..
Wha? Leo Di Caprio from “The Man in the Iron Mask”? Jesus?
Huh?
Anyway, I wouldn’t go to a church if the Pastor wanted Shillery to win.
One of them, Peter, denied Christ three times after the crucifixion, before the morning call to prayer.
