Police said Grace Jr. and two other people tried to rob a Pizza Hut in the 3200 block of Freedom Drive. During the incident, an employee fired his own handgun and killed Grace Jr.

“If there was to be a death, it was not the place of the employee at Pizza Hut. That is the place of law enforcement,” said Hairston.

The parents are angry that their son was shot and killed by an employee. They don’t believe the full story has been released to the public.

“Why in the hell did this guy have a gun?” questioned Hairston about the employee who shot her son.

This is prelude to the lawsuit against Pizza Hut.

How can we support Yum! Brands here?

During my military years I practiced for the throat, and grouped there very well. I have never seen body armor that would stop even a nearly spent round at extreme range if it hit the throat.

Spetsnaz aims for the tip of the nose, very little bone between there and the 'apricot'...

The entire process - anything you did - should have started and ended with “you feared for you life and what you did was to protect it.

If this occurred here in Oklahoma the other two robbers can be charged with first degree murder.

That actually was what was going through my mind at the time, but I didn’t want to invoke Mel’s words to muddy it up. Thanks!

It was an act of desperation

If he was a drug addict, I would agree. If not, there is no excuse for his actions.

You know as soon as you hear stuff like this, that Jr. was going to give momma his share of this robbery. And he gave her at least half of the money he got from fencing stolen goods.

To whom shot Jr.: Good shooting! They should get The. Man of the Year award. In my opinion.

The most likely answer is that he was trying for a body shot, but missed.

Yep, center mass is the correct play because there's a better chance for the consolation prize if you miss your mark.

“I feared for my very life!” should be the first words a shooter of a criminal says to the police.

Actually, according to US Law Shield (which I'm a member of) their advice is this: if you have to use your firearm then the only word you know is "lawyer." Their direction is to make absolutely no statement to law enforcement. None.

It is not that you're trying to impede an investigation. You are protecting your interests. You've just been through an extremely stressful and frightening experience. If you say anything to anyone (law enforcement, bystanders, etc.) there is a good chance it will be a little confused, possibly contradictory, maybe phrased/stated poorly. An anti-2nd Amendment minded DA could use those contradictory or false/inaccurate statements made while in shock to discredit you - all of your statement/testimony. You could very easily find yourself in serious legal trouble (both criminal and civil) as a result of what is really a completely justifiable use of deadly force.

So no statement to law enforcement. You talk it over with your lawyer first. Then you answer questions only with your lawyer present and only with their advice/consent on every facet of your statement.

I was taught and I train like akalinin. 2 to the thoracic cavity, 1 to the cranial ocular cavity. If there’s even a slight hint of body armor, go straight to the cranial ocular cavity.

I work with older african american lady- why significant other is retired cop.
The feeling amongst the older generation is that the younger generation is heading for a beat down, if only to get them out of the communities.
If the law or govt will not take out the trash, they may need to take care of issue themselves.
