Police said Grace Jr. and two other people tried to rob a Pizza Hut in the 3200 block of Freedom Drive. During the incident, an employee fired his own handgun and killed Grace Jr.

The parents are angry that their son was shot and killed by an employee. They don’t believe the full story has been released to the public.

Actually, according to US Law Shield (which I'm a member of) their advice is this: if you have to use your firearm then the only word you know is "lawyer." Their direction is to make absolutely no statement to law enforcement. None.
It is not that you're trying to impede an investigation. You are protecting your interests. You've just been through an extremely stressful and frightening experience. If you say anything to anyone (law enforcement, bystanders, etc.) there is a good chance it will be a little confused, possibly contradictory, maybe phrased/stated poorly. An anti-2nd Amendment minded DA could use those contradictory or false/inaccurate statements made while in shock to discredit you - all of your statement/testimony. You could very easily find yourself in serious legal trouble (both criminal and civil) as a result of what is really a completely justifiable use of deadly force.
So no statement to law enforcement. You talk it over with your lawyer first. Then you answer questions only with your lawyer present and only with their advice/consent on every facet of your statement.

The feeling amongst the older generation is that the younger generation is heading for a beat down, if only to get them out of the communities.
If the law or govt will not take out the trash, they may need to take care of issue themselves.
