Donald Trump and Paul Ryan share common ground on at least one thing repealing and replacing Obamacare posthaste.
A guest on conservative host Hugh Hewitt's radio program, Ryan on Wednesday fully endorsed Trump's call for a special session of Congress after Trump wins the election next week.
"Imagine if we had a Republican president," Ryan told Hewitt. "This is what Donald Trump is talking about. A special session, we've already proven this year with a Republican House and a Republican Senate we can have that special session, and we can repeal, and we can replace Obamacare.
It's unclear why a special session would be required, since Congress convenes in January, long before the new president's inauguration.

Exactly. Paul Ryno read the tea leaves, and they spelled “everyone hates you”
Ryno Ryan is now in “butt saving mode!” He knows that Trump will be the next President, and his “personal desire” to run for President is over. But we should not let him skate, he needs to be removed as Speaker in the next couple of weeks. After Trump in the President-eiect, he needs to make it clear that Ryan must go. I’d even support a “Trump message” to McScrotumneck bringing the same message.
Ryan seems to zig zag continually.
This latest zag appears to reflect the polls which indicate Trump may win.
If Trump wins or loses, Ryan should have no future in party leadership.
He has been worthless; only self-serving.
Trump grabbed the uniparty PR man by his mangina?
Ryan got a glimpse at the latest Trump internal polls.
Politics is the art of the possible.
To govern, the Speaker and the President must sort things out to reach an acceptable path defining what is possible.
Barack Obama chose to not go down that path and is a failure
Ryan reached up within himself looking for testicles. Found them too little, too late.
It’s my take, and has been from last year around June, that he wants it out of the government’s hands.
Purists will get upset because he talks about taking care of the 40 million uninsured. They shouldn’t because our government has always taken care of them.
They go to the hospital and the government picks up the tab. There are some restrictions and qualifiers, but that’s what happens.
When addressing this group, he has talked about seeing if the private sector could come up with a plan to take care of this group too.
One thing that could be done, is the government take out a minimalist health plan for them. Sounds crazy, but it beats the government picking up the whole tab for each uninsured person.
If the government took out a $10,000 deductible plan for them, it would limit government exposure to $10,000 dollars instead of $10,001 to $200,000 per case.
That could provide service at a much reduced cost to the government than it has been paying.
If the private sector can come up with something else, or in addition, I think that would be great.
At least he’s moving in the right direction for the vast majority of it.
I don’t like liqueur, but one drink called Singapore’s sling I’d like to rename for Ryan, Singapore cane.
Another meaningless show vote.
That’s what we need. :)
Hell no, this shouldn’t be considered until Trump is President and Ryan is REPLACED by someone who is not an operative/stooge for the Establishment.
Actually, I kinda like the idea of an already legislated and passed bill to repeal Obamacare laying on President Trump’s desk waiting for his signature first thing after his inauguration.
A little battlefield conversion? I wonder if it wasn’t election season what he would say.
It’s not gonna happen.
A lot of these guys were elected in 2010 on a platform of repealing Obamacare.
To date - the bill has never even left the Congress ***EVEN WITH A REPUBLICAN MAJORITY***.
It’s a good day to be a liberal. :)
Ryan jumping on the wagon, too little too late! If we lose his seat it would be no great loss. Even if he is speaking the right words his Action Always betray us and show his core beliefs!
Sure he does as long as he thinks Trump is going to win. Otherwise he won’t support it at all.
The hypocrite could have defunded it a year ago.
Ryan seems like the kind of guy who looks in the mirror to see the only person he cares about. But you know what? If Ryan can deliver his state to Trump and it makes the difference for the election, we're stuck with him as Speaker. I can live with that trade off.
I’m not happy with the “and replace”. I want Obamacare repealed. Then we can negotiate on whether to replace it once they have no leverage to force bad deals.
This two bit lifer politician took from Veterans care and gave to his and BamBams refugee care charity... He needs to go, but I have NO expectations that the voters in Wisconsin will do the right thing.
