NeverTrump’s have you seen enough?
vanity | October 31, 2016 | Kevin “Coach” Collins

Even before Friday’s explosive announcement from FBI director James Comey that, for whatever reason (there are a number of good theories) he had decided to re-open the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s handling of classified emails, Donald Trump was surging.

He had cut ten points off of the Washington/ABC poll in just 5 days. That surge has now been accelerated by the Comey announcement.

The reasons for you NeverTrumps to oppose Trump have dwindled down to a precious few. He has called your bluff on every issue by expressing his sincere intentions to close our borders cleaning up the corruption in Washington – well okay since some of you would be disadvantaged by that maybe it’s not a significant point- and Trump has also laid out his plans to appoint strict constitutional judges to our federal bench including a stellar line-up of well-known well-respected conservative jurors. These are things you say you support.

Now your true objections to Trump are showing through.

You like your life as an outsider in the political world. You like being free to say whatever someone else will pay you to say without fear of consequences.

As outsiders you can work for think tanks funded by well- meaning but naïve rich conservatives who don’t realize that you have no intentions of ever actually winning anything.

You only want to talk a good game and get paid for it.

Trump represents the ultimate “all in” challenge to your world; and you don’t want to deal with his challenge even if that means helping to defeat him and elect Hillary Clinton.

These things said, do you really think promoting the election of a criminal who would plunge our nation into a perpetual state of third world anarchy and crisis is what is best for you and your family?

Regardless of the results, the FBI’s investigation will continue well past the close of the polls next week.

If this country elects Hillary Clinton with your help, what happens to that investigation? Do you suppose it will be shut down? If it is shut down, do you suppose the tens of millions of Americans who tried to stop the chaos will merely accept it?

There will be disruption of our social order as we have not seen since 1861.

The blood that runs through our streets will be at least partially on your hands. Is that the legacy you want to pass down to your children and grandchildren?

NeverTrumps have you seen enough?

The NeverTrumps need to get on board and see what everybody else sees: Electing Hillary Clinton would be a crippling blow to our nation that we might not survive.

They’ll never admit voting for Trump.

But they’re coming home and Gary Johnson voters are shifting to Trump.

I don’t know of any one who really likes Hillary.

Never Trumps are a strange breed. They want to turn back the clock to 1988 and continue using an outdated playbook. They have no self awareness of the pervasive defects of the modern Republican party and the modern conservative movement (which hasn’t moved for twenty years).

I think it’s a form of mental illness with many.

I think most nevertrumpers in existence today are really GOPe members, which means they are members of the #uniparty and, therefore, Hillary supporters.

Those of us (yes, I was a “nevertrumper) who didn’t like him based on his stance on issues and methodology have come around, I believe.

When my hillary supporting friends accuse me of being a trump supporter, I make it clear I’ve only voted FOR a candidate once in my life - in 1980. A real conversation starter with these people is to use the analogy from the “This is the flight 93 election” article:

Voting for trump is playing Russian Roulette. Voting for Hillary is playing Russian Roulette with a Glock.

It allows me to explain the difference in the weaknesses of the two candidates and make the case why Trump is the ONLY sane choice.

There was plenty to see a year ago. The NeverTrump are simply uniparty players that hate to see an outsider like Trump elected.

Trump hasn’t been part of the eGOP “scene” in DC and those that have spent their entire lives climbing the social ladder in the eGOP are scared they won’t retain their positions if Trump wins. Period. THAT is why they oppose Trump.

ANY “Republican” who has endorsed Hillary had better PULBICLY and LOUDLY retract that endorsement by Friday or be THOWN OUT of the Republican Party. And that includes ANY members of the Bush family.

using an outdated playbook

It's an election, not a game.

Keep in mind that a May 1988 Gallup poll gleefully reported by the New York Times showed a 9 point lead for Dukakis but also showed that 28% of Republicans (the NeverBushes) said they would not vote for Bush senior and in fact vote for Dukakis. When the election data came out that number had fallen to just 9% of the vote. Nevertheless, we need all NEVERTRUMPs to come home.

The only thing that differentiates the miserable turd Romney from the miserable turd Glennbeck is Romney has at least been keeping his mouth shut.

They had no choice. They are on the take with this whole group and going down anyway with them. They are done and not worth worrying over.

I talked with a never-Trumper Republican friend since the latest scandal broke. She claimed to not like either but definitely feels warm and fuzzy that the Bushes and the Clintons get along so well. So Hillary can’t be all bad in her thinking. I told her that I thought the Bushes were all traitors. They would all rather get along with the Clintons than stand up for our country and the issues the Republican Party claims to represent. But I didn’t make a dent in her thinking. I don’t doubt that she will vote for Hillary because my friend is ignorant of all that Hillary is and has done while she can remember one thing she hates about Trump: that he took legal tax deductions! That is reprehensible to her.

NeverTrumps prefer Hillary over Trump on most/all of

* immigration
* supreme court (abortion, guns, privacy, ...)
* taxes
* economy/trade
* war, nato, russia, syria, ...
* many other things

They don’t say “We prefer Trump on issues but can’t vote for him” with a convincing explanation of how that is possible. They haven’t even tried to explain how being offended by the word p*$%&y is worse than Trump’s position vs Hillary’s on any one of those issues above. They can’t do it and use it as an excuse to not admit where they stand on issues.

They say “our principles and conscience won’t allow us to vote for Trump.” Principles are about issues, not personality. Conscience is about the direction the country goes with one president or the other and whether or not they are comfortable about being a part of determining (even leading) that direction.

If their principles and conscience preferred Trump on issues and direction they’d be helping him and thus putting themselves in position (Trump’s allies) to help accomplish his/their goals. Instead they are ensuring that he will not listen to them and hoping that they get Hillary and be in position to help her with her/their goals.

There is NO NEW INFORMATION here. There may be new evidence of things we already knew. So they will still vote on issues/direction of the country, and they want Hillary.

Not exactly. He has been attacking Trump without mentioning Trump’s name. From 4 days ago: http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/mitt-romney-wonders-stayed-2016-presidential-race/story?id=43069036

All a true NeverTrumpster thinks is how heartsick he is that Jebbie Bush is not the Republican nominee for 2016. And he can’t run in 2020, can he, since he won’t back Trump?
