Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump is redirecting his attention to traditionally Democratic states in the final days of the 2016 campaign in an urgent attempt to expand what for weeks has been an increasingly narrow path to victory.
Following FBI Director James B. Comeys surprise announcement Friday that the agency would once again examine emails related to Hillary Clintons time as secretary of state, Trump and his advisers see a fresh opportunity to make gains in states that most public polls have shown as out of reach. They spent the weekend deliberating ways to seize on what they see as a dramatic turn in the campaigns closing chapter and scramble the political map following a rough stretch beset by controversy.
Trump held rallies Sunday in Colorado and New Mexico, and he was scheduled to make two stops Monday in Michigan and visit Wisconsin the day after that.
Clinton, meanwhile, is focused on shoring up turnout and enthusiasm, particularly among minority voters, in such critical battlegrounds as North Carolina, Florida and Ohio. Early voting data from Ohio contains ominous signs of a lack of enthusiasm for Clinton, notably in places such as Clevelands Cuyahoga County, where high black turnout propelled President Obama to victory in 2008 and 2012.
As a result, Clintons campaign has launched an intensive effort to send her most popular surrogates, including the president, first lady Michelle Obama and rapper Jay Z, across the country.

The highlighted words are the difference between journalism and propaganda.
The latter being the same Jamie Gorelick of Waco fame.
Another unprosecuted Clintonite.
Brilliant!
That would be the same Jamie Gorelick who decided to put up a "Chinese Wall" forbidding sharing of information between the FBI, the CIA, and other agencies. This was considered to be an enabling factor in the 9/11 plane terror.
That would also be the same Jamie Gorelick who was rewarded for her outstanding government service with a directorship at Fannie Mae, and who received $26 million in performance bonuses over the period of 1998 - 2003. (We all know what happened to FNMA a few years later).
And, this same Jamie Gorelick was on Obama's short list to be appointed as Director of the FBI, according to this link:
Eric Holder is upset with FBI’s Comey. He and Gorelick denounced Comey. What a pair to claim “irregularities” at FBI and breach of protocol!!
Trump should have a rally in central New Jersey. I was always thought (befire the recent email scandal) that hillary’s support is soft and not enthusiastic.
NJ like NM, is for the taking. The optics of a rally there would reverberate throughout the mid-Atlantic states.

About three years ago I spent three days on a union factory floor. I didn’t want to go because I don’t like visits to union shops, especially in Ohio.
I was surprised, flabbergasted even, that they had radios on listening to right wing talk radio, to Rush. One was a lesbian lathe operator.
Have you looked at the various online electoral college maps?
It looks like a democratic fantasy island.
They show the following as tossups: Arizona, Georgia, Iowa, Ohio, North Carolina and Utah.
Leans Clinton in Colorado, Florida, Michigan, Nevada, New Hampshire and Wisconsin.
Favored Clinton in New Mexico, Pennsylvania and Virginia.
They are REALLY going to be heart-broken.
As for me, I’m saving images, to share at a later date when those who made these falsehoods create new ones.
This has been explained earlier.
One is a WP editorial from the WP editorial board, , the other is a private opinion and printed on the opinion page.
There is nothing out of the ordinary here, unless you want us to consider each opinion on it’s own merit and not juxtaposed.
Great pic. Thanks.
I’m not surprised at your experience at all. I spent 30 plus years in U.A.W. factories and the only place I’ve found so many people think all union members are goons and thugs is F.R.
I’ve never voted for a democrat in my life and know many other union members who are the same.
The “broad brush” approach is almost never right concerning anything.
If he had one close enough to me, in NY or NJ,
I will do everything I can to go. They seem like amazing experiences.
And to think I lived a stone’s throw from Golden, CO a few years ago!
In final sprint, Trump targets Democratic states while Clinton tries to gin up enthusiasm among minorities
Interesting use of words in a headline.
First, it paints Trump in a good light vs Clinton.
Second, it uses “targets” in relation to Trump. Implying shooting. Then it points out that Clinton is “tries” vs the more dinfinitive target.
Lastly, it says she “tries to gin up” implying that she is looking to create a non existent result.
What if the headline read like this:
In final sprint, Clinton targets Democratic states while Trump tries to gin up enthusiasm among minorities.
Or this: In final sprint, Trump tries to gin up enthusiasm among Democratic states while Clinton targets minorities
I suspect the headline will change online after the head editors get to the office.

I’ve seen projections with Texas as “leaning democrat”. You’re right, it is fantasy land.
Sure. Trump's "increasingly narrow" path to victory is why he is mostly campaigning in blue states. Thanks, Bezos Blog!
The networks pull this same old crap, with great regularity, every 4 years, counting on the fact that most low info voters have a very short memory span.
IMO, I read it as he has OH, FL, NC, PA, etc sewn up and is looking to turn this into a rout. But that's just my opinion. If it was close, then he'd be camped out in the critical states.
The only other option is that Hillary takes OH, FL, PA, NC in a landslide so he's pulling out of them, and I don't think that's the case at all. At least, not in NC. NC won't even be close.
I didn’t even catch all of it on the first pass. The word “redirecting” is a backhanded dig at Trump as well.
