Regarding Climate Change ask your grand kids the following:
1. Was the last Ice Age the last ice age? Meaning there will be no more. How do you know that?
2. Are we in between ice ages or are in a temperate lull in a ice age that hasn’t really ended. (Temperate lulls can last many times longer then recorded history!) What’s your reason for preferring one explanation over the other? How can you tell the difference?
3. Assume for a minute humans don’t exist, what drives climate?
Usually Climateers leave get mad and never let met even get to the second question. (Note I have more questions that they won’t or can’t answer also!)
I also have a series of questions I want Solar Power Rangers to answer!
I find it even easier to ask them simply what the right temperature sbould be for planet earth? If they could be put in charge of God’s thermostat, what temperature would they set it at? Barring their ability to answer that, the obvious follow up is how can one say it’s getting too hot (or too cold) if one can’t say what the correct temperature should be?

I hit my favorite, sweet granddaughter with Algore’s failed prediction that the Polar caps would be gone, baby, gone in 2015 and what did she think of that?

Sometimes I wish I had stayed in the geologic sciences, it was in the late 1970s and the bottom had dropped out for. jobs in the oil and mineral industry and didn't look like it was ever going to get any better. I went back to grad school - PhD eventually and turned myself into an engineer. Mostly EE stuff, signal processing, antennas, computer modeling/ simulation etc. Ready to retire now, still love those rocks!

I was at the Nevada Day parade today in Carson City. I saw hundreds of TRUMP shirts, hats, and signs in the crowd. I saw only a small cluster of Hillary supporters huddled together near the Nugget Casino. Governor Sandoval said he like my orange “Hillary for Prison” shirt and then we posed for pictures.

She is thinking about applying to the University of CA at Monterey Bay because she loves Oceanography, biology, chemistry, etc. She still wants to be a doctor, like her grandfather (my late husband) but she’s young and I continue to tell her, to choose a profession she loves, that also makes sufficient money, so that she can pursue something else she loves as a “hobby.” If she wants to “save the planet” do it on her “leisure time.”
