I hit my favorite, sweet granddaughter with Algore’s failed prediction that the Polar caps would be gone, baby, gone in 2015 and what did she think of that?

“Oh, the irony,” I said. “All of your climate change hyenas are crackpot democrats, including your teachers, ask them!”

I actually have an undergraduate degree in geophysics with minors in meteorology and math. Of course I got those when they were arguing for an ice age. It's funny one of my favorite prof ,the one who taught paleontology was the one who pointed out technically we are still in the Holocene but in a glacial minimum. He was always saying ‘the earth is an icy planet punctuated by periods of temperate conditions. That's when history happens!’

Sometimes I wish I had stayed in the geologic sciences, it was in the late 1970s and the bottom had dropped out for. jobs in the oil and mineral industry and didn't look like it was ever going to get any better. I went back to grad school - PhD eventually and turned myself into an engineer. Mostly EE stuff, signal processing, antennas, computer modeling/ simulation etc. Ready to retire now, still love those rocks!
