"I get asked on a regular basis, 'Boy, why aren't you running this year?' I ask myself that a lot too. But I did that once," Romney said.
He made self-deprecating jokes about his loss to President Barack Obama in 2012, borrowing a line from Democrat Walter Mondale, who lost to Ronald Reagan in the 1984 presidential election: "All my life I wanted to run for president in the worst way, and that's what I did."
He laughed about how much fun he had running in the 2012 race, encouraging the audience at an event hosted by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, "If you get the chance to run for president, do it."

Against the street fighting mudslinging dirt machine that Hillary is, Romney would have been toasted by the media.
Trump has the balls and backbone to fight back.
Look if the DNC and their media lackeys can taint Romney for “binders full of women,” A “dog on the roof” of his station wagon, and “killing the wife of one of his workers” by denying medical coverage.....what would you imagine Hillary could do today.
The situation called for a street fighter who is willing to get in the mud pit and deal with Clinton where she lives....in the sewer of life.

Mitt might actually have won, in 2012, if he had actually run as a Republican who was mindful of his base. As it was, he ran his campaign for President the same way he ran his campaign for MA Senator, against Teddy the Swimmer. He ran as a Liberal Republican, and voters in MA decided they wanted the genuine article, and voted for Teddy.
When Mitt ran against Obama, the same thing happened. He didn't want to embrace the Republican base, so he ran as a middle of the roader and got squashed.

Trump was already doing that even though Romney wasn’t on stage.

Come on, he’s spent more time fighting the GOP nominee this cycle than he did fighting for the presidency in 2012.

I didn’t say he was a good politician or a good Republican, he was a good human being.

Hey “Mitt”, you were the stalking horse for Obama in 2012. No way you were gonna get a chance to do it for Hillary in 2016.

Romney spent more time attacking Trump than he did Obama. He’s a traitor.

Romney’s magic underpants are WAY too tight if this fool thinks he could have won the Republicans primaries, much less the general election.

ROMNEY did NOT “stay out” of the 2016 race. He ran his
piehole nonstop until he finally got tired of running his
piehole.

"Mitt Romney Often Wonders Why He Stayed Out of 2016 Presidential Race"That's odd. I've always wondered why he stayed out of the 2012 presidential race.

Romney MIGHT have out polled Jeb Bush, but that's about it. I think his original agreement with the Bush family was to act as the 2012 placeholder, which he was, in order to nominate Jeb in 2016.
Trouble is the public hadn't had enough time to forget the last Bush, so they just weren't buying what Jeb was selling.

Dear Mitt,
you’re not running this year because
you threw/blew the 2012 election to the IIIC (illegal islamonazi in chief)
and now you’ve been backstabbing the R nominee.
any more questions?
