KENNER, La. -- Folks in Kenner who hoped to avoid the lines by voting early have been waiting up to an hour due to internet issues.
The early voting location on Minor Street near Rivertown started experiencing issues with the machines as early as 8:55 a.m. this morning, according to a voter in line.
The Jefferson Parish Registrar of Voters staff is being forced to manually verify voters.
Eric Miller, owner of Miller Foto in Harahan, was waiting in line when the internet error occurred.
"Typically, voting at the Kenner location is smooth, but today they were totally unprepared for the computer outage," Miller said.
"There were no paper ballots printed and waiting. None of the staff's cell phones worked in the building. They appeared to not be prepared at all."
Miller said because of the internet issue, many people left

Why in hades did they have NO PAPER BALLOTS available?
to suppress the vote, of course
Must be a GOP district
Just wait until election day when there are no ballots or they run out of ballots
why are the voting machines connected to the internet ?
What the heck does the Internet have to do with voting.
A reminder—Jindal has been quiet as a door mouse since Trump vanquished him last year.
And yeah—I bet they do want you to turn off your cell phone when you trip down Alice’s rabbit hole into one of their voting booths!
I wonder if it has something to do with the machines. Maybe they are Soros voting machines. GOP doesn’t need to surpess the vote - they don’t have that crooked mentality that democrats seem to possess so freely.

Wait a minute!1 Are you telling me that that machine is on the internet? It is one thing to have my vote screwed up with software but I did not know my vote was subject to IP hacking? How easy is that?
Good. Crash the net. Mail in ballots are one thing, but general early voting just enables fraud. Election day is November 8. The only people trying to avoid that are the Rats.
Got me never heard of that before. If its true it is a major problem.
When I originally read it I thought it was maybe for verifying voters. But that can’t be it, why the need for paper ballots because of internet outage?
Every time I have gone to vote my name was looked up in a binder and checked off.
SET. PHASERS. ON. STUN.
That's my question too. Must be they weren't able to connect to the site that changes the votes from Republican to Democrat.
New drinking game, you must drink every time you see the term unexpected computer glitch or calibration error. Everybody Drink!
We voted in the Raleigh area Sunday. Got to the polling place 45min early. Took another 45 min to vote. People that got there after poll opened were in line many hours.
Verification of voter via computer, ballot is paper, ‘fill in the circle ‘ next to your choice. Then the ballot is run through a counting machine.
In Louisiana, voter registration is checked before you are allowed to vote. On election day, most precincts use a printed roll to check and you must sign your name next to your entry. I don’t know for early voting. They may use the internet to verify registration as the smaller number of early voters to election day voters would make the paper list harder to accomplish.
Valid picture IDs are also required, but one can vote without one by filling out an affidavit.
That was my first thought and didn't read past that. Guess it's so Soros can get the scores immediately so he can rig more machines if need be.
Thanks for the info. I live in New York State. No ID required, but you have to sign your name next to a facsimile of your signature. I much preferred the voting booths where you had to pull the handle to close the curtains. I vote at a senior citizen center. They provide you with a paper ballot that you have to mark with a pencil, then you put the ballot into a machine and it processes your vote.
Likely a VPN (Virtual Private Network) over the internet to the Elections Mother-Ship Server. That is an encrypted pipe. Very common way to set up a Temporary Location. Simple, we did it all the time in my Corporate IT days
NC used to use the binders, but now use an online database to check your registration.
