London City Airport was evacuated Friday afternoon, with dozens treated after a “chemical incident.”
The British capital’s fire brigade said that 500 people had been evacuated from the hub.
It is not immediately clear what caused the evacuation, though fire authorities said that there had been “reports of a chemical incident.”
London Ambulance Service said that it is “treating 26 patients at the scene for difficulty breathing" and that two patients had been taken to the hospital.
It added that a hazardous area response team had been sent to the airport.
This is a developing story and will be updated.
