Chris Cuomo: We At CNN Can Possess WikiLeaks Emails, But You Can't
Townhall.com ^ | October 17, 2016 | Cortney O'Brien

CNN's Chris Cuomo lectured his viewers on Sunday that he and other journalists have the right to possess the stolen WikiLeaks emails, but you regular folks can't.

Of course, he's wrong. There's something called the First Amendment. WikiLeaks called out the anchor's untrue assertion on Twitter.

CNN falsely states that it unlawful for the public--but not for CNN--to search WikiLeaks #PodestaEmails pic.twitter.com/sZMoM9iT2i— WikiLeaks (@wikileaks) October 16, 2016

Social media users are rightfully annoyed by Cuomo's assertion, suspecting he's trying to ensure Americans listen to CNN's interpretation of the hacked emails instead of letting them read the messages for themselves.

On Sunday, WikiLeaks released the ninth batch of Hillary Clinton Campaign Chair John Podesta's emails. Please, read away.

Cuomo is a complete ignoramus. He proved that when he stated that rights don't come from God, but from man. If he's correct, then why is slavery wrong, as long as a majority of citizens vote to allow it? Why was the Holocaust wrong, since "Man" decided to create it?

Having thus proven that he has no idea about the basis of the American founding and the Constitution, or even the basic concept of "inalienable rights," he now shows that he has no understanding whatsoever of the 1st Amendment recognition of Freedom of the Press.

He sees the word "press," and reads "media."

In the Constitutional sense, the press is simply a device that allows individuals to freely publicize their views and observations. In the days of the founding, it was a printing press. Nowadays, it's also the Internet. Was Thomas Paine "the media"?

That is the "press" that we have free access to. The idea that the "media" has legal rights that any citizen doesn't have is absolute self-serving poppycock.

Chris Cuomo (who calls blacks in France “African Americans”) is living proof that there are far more horses asses than horses.

Isn’t this the son who’s genius father said the mob didn’t exist?

So who owns Jr?

And somewhere in the bowels of the internet, someone is trying to hack Chris Cuomo’s digital archives so they can turn them over to Wikileaks and Chris Cuomo can have fun defending himself too.

And brother of a-hole Andrew Cuomo, who told us that conservatives have no business living in New York.

How many of us are aware that CNN apparently gets funding from our state department?

Almost all of the corporate media are in financial trouble except CNN.

CNN receives programming reimbursement from the U.S. State Department via The Bureau of International Information Programs; the same State Department program that pays Facebook for content. CNN is not as reliant on ad revenue because they get tens of millions from the U.S. State Department.

They are terrified that they will be proven irrelevant when TRUMP WINS and that he will deny them access they would have under Hillary.

The media has been exposed as the demoRAT mouthpiece, we have always known they were and they are scared of what the consequences will be.

This is the same CNN loser that was hoping Donald Trump would be the nominee. He thought he would be easy to beat. Now that Trump has called them out they are doing everything to tear him down.

I hate these people. REALLY, REALLY HATE THEM!

Just like his old man and brother, this guy is an embarrassing knucklehead. Loud mouth, empty head.

“I really liked JFK...”

Married to Jackie, and committed adultery one to six times every day, every day, every day, week in, week out, year in, year out, used the secret service to pimp for him...

My mother despised “that pig-eyed, inbred, shanty-Irish trash.” Since I attained the age of reason, my opinion has progressed from mild contempt to white-hot hatred. The only reason I regret his death is that he was never disgraced as Bill Clinton is being now.

What I always thought. The press thinks that it has a special provision in the Constitution. They truly think that it affords even more free speech rights to them than the rest of us joe sixpacks. Which also means only the official media, not bloggers, certainly not Drudge or Breitbart.

Which is an interesting take on the First Amendment. If you can be sued for millions for something you write, then the law seems to be suggesting that any person has the ability to reach the masses.

Anyone ever notice how Hollywood or TV writers portray journalists? They make them into unsung heroes who always have credible sources and refuse to report anything that lacks credibility.

A couple examples. Ben Ulrich, the character in daredevil, is murdered by Wilson Fisk for keeping on a story every other newsroom has abandoned. In “The Boss” the hero again is a journalist who knows Kelsey Grammar’s character is a crook.

Don’t get me wrong. I root for them. How couldn’t you root for a journalist in search for the truth at any cost? Sadly that may have been journalism once upon a time but isn’t these days.
