While several recent polls from Utah have suggested Donald Trump is recapturing his lead there, an astounding new survey from CBS News and YouGov finds him with a 17-point lead over Hillary Clinton, far beyond what other polls suggest.
Independent write-in candidate Evan McMullin, whose campaign is almost entirely dedicated to attacking Trump, plays a major role in the CBS/YouGov poll… but he might be hurting Clinton at least as much as Trump.
In fact, he’s tied with Hillary Clinton in Utah. Donald Trump leads with 37 percent, while Hillary Clinton and Evan McMullin draw 20 percent each, followed by Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson with 7 percent and Jill Stein of the Green Party with 1 percent.

Mitt Romney and the rest of the GOPe are trying desperately to draw enough votes away from Trump to hand the election to Crooked Hillary and put the Clintons back in the White House.
Who would have thought four years ago such a paragraph as that would ever be written! We are living in strange times. But I do know this, the GOPe is finished.

Odd election. Losing nationally by 11 pts but winning Utah by 17 pts.
Even the new WaPo Hillary puff piece suggests Hillary is considering campaigning in Utah to try to win it. This is just more evidence that article is empty Hillary hype.
People need to realize the “secret sauce” of all polls is the turnout model. They do not just report how questions were answered, they weight results by their own personal predicted turnout model. That could explain why different polls have varying results. There is no way to know whose turnout model is right in advance. Obama had a turnout model which unexpectedly repeated in 2012 after lagging off in the mid-terms, so many of those polls were off the mark.
Trump’s key to victory and to defying the polls is in changing the turnout model in his favor. So far I haven’t heard one hint from the polls that anyone is expecting the turnout model to be different than it was in past elections, either Bush or Obama wins. If it is, and Trump turns out enough voters who don’t normally vote, then that is how he wins.

It's a load. This is my take: The "traditional" October Surprise Takedown is geared to the Old Media Model - everyone is glued to their TeeVee in the last weeks, and traditional Media advertising techniques will prevail.
I say NAY - because the audience is BIGLY fragmented, and no one has time to watch the traditional anecdotal heart-string-plucking TeeVee spots.
Nobody effing cares. The only ones who are watching the HORRIBLE ABUSE OF WOMEN by Trump are the people who hate Trump, and older people who are captive of the Voices from the TeeVee.

I've done the same - voting for the Libertarian - when Ohio was either a sure win or a sure loss for the Republican. When it is close I voted for the Republican. I would never want my vote to be the one which won it for a Democrat.
