It has been pleasant weather... blue skies, however it is getting cold days now. Need a heavier jacket when I go out.

It is a shame that “It’s DeLovely” was such a lousy movie.
Cole deserved better.

There was an earlier biopic of Porter with Cary Grant in the title role, but of course it made no mention of his homosexuality. Thus far, there have been no adequate biopics of Porter.

THE GREAT AMERICAN SONGBOOK
COLE PORTER
PARIS
COLE PORTER: TWO LITTLE BABES IN THE WOODS This song had been written for Greenwich Village Follies but had been dropped from the show. In a fine act of revenge, Cole brought it back for Paris. This is a 1934 recording of Cole singing his own music. His tenor voice isnt perfect, but I love his piano work, especially his use of harmony. You can hear the influence of Gilbert & Sullivan, and even a bit of Roger Quilter.

Shoot. I’m not sure. maybe both of them did. Did that sound like the Kansas version? I can’t change it now, but will as soon as this weeks tunes are taken down.
