There are many indicators the leaked 2005 NBC/Universal Trump video may have been a coordinated GOPe (UniParty) plot to remove the threat to their influence and affluence posed by the candidacy of Donald Trump.
Heres a summary of stories, interviews and excerpts related to this issue. [Ill weigh in with my take after all of the information] Beginning with Lou Dobbs interviewing Jerry Falwell Jr.:
Jerry Falwell, Jr.: The whole story just fell in my lap about six or eight weeks ago. I got a phone call from someone who is very close to the top establishment candidates and the Republican Party, people who wanted to be president over the last four or five years.
He told me, Jerry something strange is going on. Theyre meeting regularly. And they tell me it is a certainty that Donald Trump will not be the nominee on November 8th. And I called one of Trumps attorneys and I told him about it. There were no more details than that. So theres nothing anybody could do.
But then when I saw what happened this weekend, and I saw how quickly all the usual suspects jumped on it and started to call on Trump to step down as the nominee It was just too much of a coincidence It really tells me it was some sort of conspiracy. I went to the proper authorities and told them what I was told. Its probably too late to prosecute anybody Its not only despicable. I think it maybe rises to the level of criminal behavior
I think it rises to the level of people who were candidates in the last four years or five years. And so its very high level.

IMHO Paul Ryan is in trouble with the real GOP. I think they will wait until after the election to do something about it like strip him of the Speaker position.
I am afraid that I and many others will join you. The Republican party is dead to me. If Trump is not elected, I will never vote for another Republican, I no longer accept the argument that the Republican candidate is the lesser of two evils. They are all the same, low popahirum and high popalaurum, and if I want the system to end, worse is netter.
10 minutes after McCain denounced DT, I got an email from McCain.
“send money now so we can stop the Hillary agenda”
Like 2012,2014. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me, third time ?
FOM
Write your Republican Congressmen and Senators and tell them this.
I just wrote my Representative, who is generally a pretty solid conservative and who I have even given money to in the past. But he voted for Ryan for speaker back in January.
I told him that unless Paul Ryan is removed from the speakership, and the new Republican congressional leadership gets 100% behind Trump in the last weeks of the campaign, I intend to vote for Trump for president but not a single downticket Republican.
Let them here from you and let them know how mad we are at the efforts to undermine Trump and elect Clinton. The next few weeks are the time when we have maximum leverage. Every one of them is up for reelection and very few are safe if 10% of their base leaves the Congressional ballot blank.
So true. But they will be getting the cheap labor and "economic growth" the donor class wants. The GOP is, and always was, nothing but a tool to get what is really important to the people who control the GOP: $$$$$
Exactly, which is why I believe we really just have a uni-party with 2 slightly differing factions.
