Despite hurricane-force media hype that Donald Trumps locker room talk over a decade ago precludes him from the presidency, the GOP base is ignoring its leadership and standing by Donald Trump. A poll by Politico shows:
A wave of Republican officials abandoned Donald Trump on Saturday, but, at least for now, rank-and-file Republicans are standing by the party's presidential candidate, according to a new POLITICO/Morning Consult poll conducted immediately after audio was unearthed Friday that had the GOP nominee crudely bragging about groping women and trying to lure a married woman into an affair.
Overall, fewer than four-in-10 voters -- 39 percent -- think Trump should end his presidential campaign, while only slightly more voters, 45 percent, think he should not drop out.
But voters are largely viewing Trump's comments through their own partisan lens: 70 percent of Democrats say Trump should end his campaign, but just 12 percent of Republicans -- and 13 percent of female Republicans -- agree.

I think Ryan is beneath shame.
They don’t care what we thought or wanted, that’s clear.
I will not vote for George P Bush here in Texas. Didn’t vote for him last time, either. Yes, he has given Trump lukewarm support, but that is just to cover his little Bush New World Order Uniparty ass.
cha ching required. They’ve been paid or vince fostered.
When I read the media report (linked to from Drudge) that opens with Trump already had a tough couple weeks after calling Miss Universe fat, I know this is all hype. I as an American citizen have had a tough eight years under a Democratic regime that colluded with big banks to deny me interest on my CD’S and savings accounts, after having come to power by blaming the 2007 economic collapse on Republicans, when it was the Democrats who colluded to tank our economy in the first place so they could push a false narrative and take over. I won’t trust any damn thing the Democrats and their ‘running dog lackeys’ Soros, Jeff Bezos, the Facebook kid, Hollywood and the Communist Chinese have to say.
The establishment would do anything to block a Trump win.
Including dragging out a vulgar decade old tape.
It backfired on them because people are disgusted with politics and the Washington political class.
I think in a way it humanize do Trump among men because they see a regular guy, maybe one the pushes the envelope a little too far, but a regular guy.
Augustine of Hippo has a callous, sexually crazed youth.
He went on to become a saint.
Trump is nowhere even in that league and he isn’t running for the priesthood.
Sent the following to traitor Kelly Ayotte (RNH).
My wife and I are disgusted by your craven attempt at virtue signaling by withdrawing your support from Donald Trump for president.
While his remarks, are indeed disgusting, there isnt a man alive, who hasnt made such salacious remarks.
These remarks were recorded surreptitiously in a mens locker room 11 years ago and only surfaced when needed to attempt to discredit the Republican candidate for president.
It appears that, for this cause, you believe Hillary Clinton is a better choice for president. Her vile tongue and obscenity-laced tirades are known far and wide.
The hypocrisy of your actions are a reprehensible exhibition of arrogant elitism, and that in the face of an approaching disaster for our country if Hillary is elected.
We are henceforth withdrawing any and all support for your campaign.
If Hassan doesnt trounce you in the coming election, we hope to defeat you in the next primary.
Dont call us or write to us, unless you issue a public apology and pledge to support the republican candidate chosen by the primary process.
Regards,
I donated another $100.00 to Trump’s campaign this morning.he needs to KNOW we are with him! And, I do not want to see this nation die without some fight to save it!.
Very well stated! Great job!
” 70 percent of Democrats say Trump should end his campaign, but just 12 percent of Republicans.”
Trump is still extremely well positioned in the polls and in this election and that 12 percent of Republicans who think Trump should drop out and may not vote for him is a mere drop in the bucket of all the votes that Trump will receive.
Stay Strong! #MAGA, #neverhillary
That tape does not reveal anything about Trump that people didn’t already know about. This is so Much Ado About Nothing and everybody knows it. Only Pearl clutchers and traitors care about this.
Trump isn’t Little Lord Fauntleroy, gee what a surprise!
I am praying that Ryan and McCain both lose their seats I know this a terrible thing to say but I believe Trump will get as much grief from these two as he would any dem in those seats!!! I DISPISE these two SPINELESS BASTARDS!!!
Time to boo the losers off the stage. Trump is not part of your clique so the frat boys scream at us.
DEPLORABLES UNITE!!! DO YOU HEAR THE PEOPLE SING!!!!
[They cant back our partys nominee and theres no reason to trust them to take care of our affairs in Washington.]
Exactly!
It’s the Uniparty/Media/Globalists vs. ordinary patriotic Americans.
I hope to God Trump has a strong performance tonight.
Yes and no. They HOPE GOP voters will vote Hitler-y; but if
not, their best hope is that GOP voters will just stay
home out of disgust for TRUMP.
AIN’T HAPPENING!!! TWINKIE’S a WOMAN and TWINKIE will walk
barefoot over rough gravel on Election Day to the polls and
thankfully cast my vote for DONALD J. TRUMP & MIKE PENCE!!!
So will Fang. He’s straightlaced; but I’m sure he’s joked
in private with his buddies about women.
What an election...
