House Speaker Paul Ryan, 'Sickened' By Trump's Lewd Video, Says He Won't Appear With GOP Nominee

Donald Trump cited sudden interest in debate-prep Friday night when he confirmed what House Speaker Paul Ryan announced minutes earlier: that the GOP nominee, subject of a freshly released lewd video, would no longer appear with Ryan at a highly anticipated joint event on Saturday.

Amid recent backlash, Trump, 70, has chosen to have his running mate take his place. “Governor Mike Pence will be representing me tomorrow in Wisconsin,” Trump said in a statement obtained by PEOPLE.

“I will be spending the day in New York in debate prep with RNC Chairman Reince Priebus, Gov. Chris Christie and Sen. Jeff Sessions, and then flying to St. Louis on Sunday for the 2nd Presidential Debate,” the statement read.

Trump’s cancellation comes after Ryan, 46, addressed the GOP nominee’s latest misogyny scandal. “I am sickened by what I heard today,” Ryan said in a statement via Variety. “Women are to be championed and revered, not objectified. I hope Mr. Trump treats this situation with the seriousness it deserves and works to demonstrate to the country that he has greater respect for women than this clip suggests.”

Concluding, “In the meantime, he is no longer attending tomorrow’s event in Wisconsin.”

Ryan reportedly dis-invited Trump from the event. Saturday’s event would have been the first time Trump and Ryan campaigned together since they both attended the Republican National Convention in July. Ryan, who has a positive rating with women in Wisconsin, has had a contentious relationship with the billionaire businessman since endorsing him in June.

Would be very interesting to go back and find the thread with all the Freepers happy that Ryan was going to campaign with Trump and that they thought his “Better Way” was wonderful even tho it was not Trump’s platforms...Damn fools—him and chavettz and whoever else is twisting the knife.

The dems protect and support their nominee...but not the GOPe :(

Based on, in part, this comment ...”gotten a couple of brochures in the mail from the Dems, about how badly Trump treats women.”
It means that this is a full coordinated frontal assault by the Clinton campaign and the media, and probably others, to blunt any chance of Trump bringing up any of the past shenanigans of the Clinton’s in the debate on Sunday.

“And that is a smart move — because as hard as it is for a lot of folks here to accept, tossing a foul-mouthed jerk from New York City under the bus is good politics in most of this country.”

Child, that’s just wrong. Do you not see the yuge difference between Trump and Ryan as far as what they can and would do for the country?

EVERYTHING is tolerated or encouraged. There’s a Movie out where the Hero refused to fight for this country.

Debased Hollywood is run by former Sen. Chris Dodd, a man popular with all these people feigning outrage.

I can spot a fake, and there’s no shortage out there on this one.

There are an infinite number of ways he can “cover his own @ss”.
He *chose* the worst for Trump- and us.

Where were you when the Dems defended Billy Clinton?
Didn’t they manage to “ cover their @sses” while doing so?

You will have to phone or snail mail him. He only accepts e-mails from his district. I absolutely despise this POS Ryan. It would be so satisfying to punch his goofy blue lights out. I will never forget this POS Paul Ryan. The next time I get a mailer from this dirtball, I am printing “RETURN TO SENDER” Oon it, crossing my address out, and dropping it 8n the mail.

Well Paul et al...women were one day respected by men. Men treated them with kindness and respect as mothers, sisters, wives, daughters, co-workers and then along came the ‘60’s and women went on to burn bras, and the feminist was born...in charge of their own bodies free to have sex with whomever was available...no strings attached! The female wanted a different role, a stronger yet sexier she! Men today see women dressing provocatively; and women say they can dress anyway they please so what if it invites distasteful comments. Hey,”it’s my body I’ll show it off as I please”. Dresses shorter, more shear for what purpose? I get it! So do men! So tell me men are not to this day commenting on these barely dressed women in your office, in bars at sporting events as spectators as cheerleaders, the little 5 year old dance groups (that are made up to look 20)dancing at ballgame half times as entertainment. Women can forget being shocked by men’s behavior...we bring it on! No apology needed...we’ve all heard it before. Our babes are hearing it too, TV, movies, internet, cell phones, texting. It’s a new day!

Turns out the people who aren’t temperamentally suited to be president are Paul Ryan and his ilk - the moment things get a little tough, they turn tail and retreat into their moral superiority - hate to see them in charge when Russia finally does shoot down one of our planes, which is on the way......

FU Ryan.

So, you are a moralistic?

You should hear the crap women say and some of it is fairly salty.

I know prominent women who have had certain daliences, while married and described their occasion in some detail on part with what a man would say.

I have never engaged in that kind of talk, as I find it distasteful and I have never affirmed or revealed any woman I may or may not have had “Sexual Relations” with.

Trump may be distasteful to some but, that pales in contrast to what Bill Clinton has done to other women, had to finally admit and was disbarred for suborning perjury.

Further, Hillary took a wrecking ball to the women he raped or assaulted or plain took advantage of ala “That woman...Ms. Lewinsky...”

I give a KcuF what some guy said about his daliences, so long as he never names “names”.

Defending sexual predators is good politics for many Democrats. Their core constituents have some of the lowest standards of any creature that walks upright.

The Republican Mormons are running to MSNBC saying they will never support Trump.

However, they have great respect for Hillary and Barack Obama.

Obama has lied about everything under the Sun.

Heck, they are just out-Glenn Becking Glenn Beck, but on the back end of the schedule. My guess is because Bishop Romney "suffers it."

(Tip of the hat to Mark Twain.)

Yes, I do. I hope they both win their respective elections, but I will have very different expectations of the two.

I’m sickened by traitorous leeches who sell out for money and power—especially when they have the gall to speak of the splinter in another’s eye.

Wisconsin obviously needs less Lyin Ryan, and more Deplorables.
