It may not be the reunion fans were hoping for, but Pink Floyd have come together to support a pro-Palestinian activist group.
The Womens Boat to Gaza is part of the Freedom Flotilla Coalition. It contains 13 women, including the 1976 Nobel peace laureate from Northern Ireland, Mairead Maguire, and it journeyed from Barcelona to Gaza in September in order to bring attention to the Israelis naval blockade of the Gaza Strip. The organization posted on its website that they lost contact with the boat on October 5th, and presume that the Israeli Occupation Navy has surrounded it in international waters.
On Pink Floyds Facebook page, the band released the following statement: Pink Floyd reunites to stand with the Women of the Gaza Freedom Flotilla. David Gilmour, Nick Mason and Roger Waters stand united in support of the Women of the Gaza Freedom Flotilla, and deplore their illegal arrest and detention in international waters by the Israeli Defense Force.

Sad, because Pink Floyd did once make great music. Maybe they just didn't stop using LSD or left the '60s.
To: ErikJohnsky
Sad. I guess Syd Barrets madness eventually caught up to the rest of the band.

The Lunatic is in their head. The Lunatic is in their head.
They raised the blade, they made the change.
They rearranged them, to make them sane.
They locked the door, they threw away the key.
Its clear it didn't work, at least to me.

Compared to them, Barrett was sane.

I would expect this from whiny Roger Waters, but not from David Gilmour.

Bet this band wouldn’t tolerate their music being adapted/stolen without authorization, yet they have no problem with the homeland of the Jewish culture being taken over/stolen by fraudulent ‘refugees’ and their fraudulent history.

I guess it’s my thing. It’s pretentious people I can’t stomach.

I would expect this from whiny Roger Waters, but not from David Gilmour. Same here. Of course these artists get all their news from leftist sources and don't know any better.

A lot of prog rock was pretentious, but that doesn't mean it was bad. Pink Floyd put out some truly classic music, but if they're gonna come down on the side of evil, then they can get stuffed.
To: Dahoser
I was thinking the same thing.

Every time I hear a Pink Floyd song I feel suicidal. Depressing stuff.
To: ErikJohnsky
Pink Floyd and the Freedom Flotilla Coalition have one thing in common - they each have worn out their welcomes; as well as any relevance they may have once had.

You're not kidding. I find it very depressing too. It's part of the soundtrack of my 1970’s and early 80’s as my older brother played them often on his big Realistic (Radio Shack) stereo.
Try this - look up Comfortably Numb on Youtube and bump the playback speed to 1.5X. It sounds less depressing and almost has a bouncy disco beat.
