New York's transgender teenagers could soon get state funding for puberty-stunting medication.
The state's Health Department filed a proposal on Wednesday to cover hormone therapy for young people with gender dysphoria on Medicaid.
Current regulations only cover therapy for transitioning adults.
The new rules would also make it compulsory for the state to fund gender-reassignment surgery for anyone over the age of 18.

This is beyond STUPID. Why would society promote stupidity? A thirteen year old knows what the heck it wants 20 years from now. Yeah, right. Hell, a 22 year old usually has no clue what it wants 20 years from now, usually.
I have yet to meet a 22 y/o that knows what they want at 22,let alone in their 40s.
Meanwhile, my family paid through the nose for my wife’s cancer treatments last year, and even with decent insurance I’m still on a payment plan with the hospital 7 months after my wife died. I’ll have it paid off in another 11 months, though.
So... it’s OK to fund treatment for people who want to turn gay but its a horrible thing to treat people who do not wat to be gay?
Can’t we keep them as puppies and kittens forever?

I’m sorry for your loss and the way our system penalizes good hard-working people like ourselves.
While we work to pay the premiums and hospitals, illegals, refugees imported with and without disease and mutilating optional surgery is free- billed to the tax payers.
