The latest round brings to 774 the number of sentences Obama has commuted, including 590 this year. The White House says it’s more than the previous 11 presidents put together.
Almost all of those receiving commutations were convicted of drug-related offenses. Most are considered nonviolent offenders, although some were convicted of firearms charges in connection with drug crimes.
Many of the recipients had been serving life sentences.

Examination of convictions is highly misleading. Some of these "non-violent" perps probably resorted to plea deals for lesser crimes. I'd like to see what the original arrest reports had to say.
Obama will expect Free drugs for life
Nobody on FR holds Obama in lower esteem than I do and I’m being nice.
Notwithstanding, there are many people sitting in Federal Prison with sentences of Life for crimes others got as little as a few years for re state beefs.
So, to the extent that Obama is addressing some of those folks, this may be the ONLY thing the sob has done that I support.
That said, most likely he is only ambidextrously grabbing bribes on his way out the door given to him by the fortunate in prison with the means to by a presidential pardon.
More white privilege? Nah, didn’t think so.
I have the same impulse although it requires me to trust O’s motives which I don’t. But I do agree that there are a lot of people with life sentences due to the Clinton’s three strikes and you’re out rules who should not be there.

Around here, those getting 30+ years for drugs always, always, always have felony gun charges either in their past or with the most recent arrest.

I see very few reasons for someone to serve a life term for a drug offense...
Kingpins, people who killed people while dealing drugs..etc...
I as well don’t trust Zero at all...

The corrupt thug in our White House wants to take guns from law-abiding patriots, but he releases criminals who use guns in actual crime. This is why democrats disgust me.
