A school has been criticised after punishing a whole cheerleading squad after a male student said he was distracted by their short skirts.
The student at Timpview High School had impure thoughts after seeing the squad in their uniforms, People reports, and so his mother wrote to the school and complained.
After the formal complaint was made, rather than helping the male student to deal with the thoughts, the Utah schools administrators appear to have punished the whole cheerleading squad.
Administrators told the cheerleading coach at the school, who told the 44-strong cheerleading squad that they should not wear their uniforms on match day.
One cheerleader told Fox 13 that she thought the school was almost supporting a rape culture.
Another of the squad told People: Its giving this boy power that when he grows up and does something to a girl, he can blame it on her skirt being too short.
It really made me angry. Why should this boy have control over what we wear?
But the school district has denied that the squad was told not to wear their uniforms.
A spokesperson for the Provo School District told Fox 13 that was not the case, but People reports that the administration is attempting to find out exactly what the cheerleaders were told.
One of the cheerleaders parents said: I was shocked when my daughter came home and told me, We cant wear our uniforms on game day. Theyre giving boys dirty thoughts.
I want the school to have a meeting with all of the cheerleaders and all of the parents, and I want our girls to walk out of that meeting with their heads held high. This boys problem has nothing to do with them.
It’s Utah. Mormons treat women only slightly better than mussie so do
Spoken in a true Yiddish accent,....
.....and if they don't wear anything, the boys' aren't going to have dirty thoughts?...What are they thinking?
“Impure thoughts”. That was one of the sins we were taught to say in confession by the nuns when we received the sacrament of Penance.
All signs point to yes.
Utah. Homegrown fundamentalist.
And they would be thrilled if the boys wore miniskirts too.
I was looking at my old 65 high school annual a few days ago. We had an unusual number of beautiful girls. I mean really, hot chicks.
The cheerleader uniforms were pretty conservative and they did no hip grinds, no can-can dances. They simply led cheers.
On the other hand I was surprised just how revealing our majorettes uniforms were. They were really skin tight and left only a small bit to your imagination.
Poor heterosexual boy, he has an idiot mom.
“It was a sin for you to wanna feel up Ellen. It was a sin for you to plan to feel up Ellen. It was a sin for you to figure out a place to feel up Ellen. It was a sin to take Ellen to the place to feel her up. It was a sin to try to feel her up and it was a sin to feel her up. There were six sins in one feel, man!”
-George Carlin
The cheerleaders should wear burkas next game day. They could stand in a line perfectly still during the entire game so as not to kick up to show any ankle. Guaranteed the administration will change their minds. Parents need to understand they own the school, not the other way around.
-——The three girls interviewed in the FOX video all said that they had been told that they were going to have to change their uniforms due to a complaint.——
Told by whom....?
Some uptight busybody mom or the school administrator...
My guess is the former....
I work with schools everyday as a vendor, believe me they have lots of little power hungrey parents who are involved in the school who think they run things or opinions matter....
Surprised ... should have just poked his eyes out ... permanent solution.
If you have not been to a high school sports event in the last 20 years, you won’t know how exposed the young women have become. I choose to look away, but if that’s not your choice, expect to see a strip show with pom poms.
Did you have Miss Groeller for Geometry in your Sophomore year? Vavoom!!!
“The student at Timpview High School had impure thoughts after seeing the squad in their uniforms, People reports, and so his mother wrote to the school and complained. “
This woman should NOT be raising boys.
She would sit on my desk, in the first row, and completely distract the all of the boys in the class.
Who was thinking about Geometry?
“Told by whom....? Some uptight busybody mom or the school administrator... My guess is the former....”
The heard it from their cheerleading coach. It’s in the video.
