A school has been criticised after punishing a whole cheerleading squad after a male student said he was distracted by their short skirts.
The student at Timpview High School had “impure” thoughts after seeing the squad in their uniforms, People reports, and so his mother wrote to the school and complained.
After the formal complaint was made, rather than helping the male student to deal with the thoughts, the Utah school’s administrators appear to have punished the whole cheerleading squad.
Administrators told the cheerleading coach at the school, who told the 44-strong cheerleading squad that they should not wear their uniforms on match day.
One cheerleader told Fox 13 that she thought the school was “almost supporting a rape culture”.
Another of the squad told People: “It’s giving this boy power that when he grows up and does something to a girl, he can blame it on her skirt being too short.
“It really made me angry. Why should this boy have control over what we wear?”
But the school district has denied that the squad was told not to wear their uniforms.
A spokesperson for the Provo School District told Fox 13 that was not the case, but People reports that the administration is attempting to “find out exactly what the cheerleaders were told”.
One of the cheerleaders’ parents said: “I was shocked when my daughter came home and told me, ‘We can’t wear our uniforms on game day. They’re giving boys’ dirty thoughts.’
“I want the school to have a meeting with all of the cheerleaders and all of the parents, and I want our girls to walk out of that meeting with their heads held high. This boy’s problem has nothing to do with them.”
I wouldn’t use Pink as a source for anything.
However...I remember those short little cheerleading skirts they wore around campus. Did they cause impure thoughts? Absolutely but as a hormone driven teenage boy, I loved it. (some were much more provocative than others.)
But as a father and grandfather, I wouldn’t want the boys to lust after my daughters or granddaughters in those little skirts way I did back in my time.
My 5’ 8” 27 year old blond blue eyed German teacher gave me plenty of impure thoughts when I was in high school. I never thought of complaining.
A couple things here.
Girls will always distract boys no matter what they’re wearing. That’s why sex-segregated high schools are a good idea; so boys can concentrate on their studies for a few hours a day.
This whole BS about “Rape Culture” has got to stop. PC crap has no place in a sane society.
Those thoughts are perfectly pure, kid.
And the newspaper prints the story even though the reporter apparently couldn’t nail down a single fact.
My wife hears all sorts of idiotic rumors at work some employees take as the the gospel truth...
Example: her store is adding a brand new liquor building section onto the main store...
Some dumb-ass told my wife they were closing the main store and this was the replacement...1/20 the size.
It's a freaking Wal-Mart...

Its called preserving the species thru procreation and titillation may be involved,, I knew of more than one cheerleader who got knockered early,, and they were hockey cheerleaders ironically or maybe not.. cold weather events make folks seek warmth

German was hard. So to speak.
When I was young cheerleaders always gave me impure thoughts. You just have to learn self-control and responsibility.
Get used to it. Just like every other corrupt, evil, even Satanic, thing the democrat machine and the MSM have gradually introduced into society since WWII they're introducing Iz Lame, one little hemline and bow to the Ko Ran at a time.
Like all the other things, you'll be branded as unAmerican and horrible if you don't go along to get along at each step along the way.

Well, the uniforms are *intended* to give the boy (and every male) “impure” thoughts.
The girls know it.
The administration knows it.
If the kid is physically handicapped so he can’t deal with it then under some law for the handicapped he has a case to sue for an arrangement.
Isn’t that the attraction? - I know as a schoolboy I definitely paid a lot of attention to cheer leading. If you think it’s about the cheers and acrobatics you may not be normal :) (He says tongue in cheek)
