Weather Channel Meteorologist Jen Delgado is facing sharp criticism and some are asking for her to be fired after she blamed Haiti's deforestation in part to hungry children eating trees.
In a weather report as Hurricane Matthew prepared to make landfall in Haiti, Delgado noted that Haiti suffers from a deforestation problem.
"They take all the trees down, they burn the trees," and she continued with a curious claim, "Even the kids there, they're so hungry, they actually eat the trees."

Telling the truth makes children more hungry.
If we lied about their situation, perhaps they would be less hungry?

I saw her apologize yesterday but didn’t know what she was talking about. They eat trees???

Another college educated nitwit. The trees are being sold for lumber you great fool! Smaller branches are burned. The locals are being put to work to make money for their families. Saplings are then planted for more tress. Just damn!

Sounds like something people from the Dominican Republic would believe, the border with Haiti is quite striking, forested on the Dominican side, denuded on the Haiti side. Does she have family from there? Maybe that’s where she heard it.
To: smokingfrog
Google a picture of the border between Haiti and Dominican Republic. You can see the deforestation. The Haitians raped their own land.

I dunno about eating trees but I bet she's got a cute bush. In front of her house. In her yard.
Y'see.

She'll not go far in the Dhimmicatic Party. A proper Dhimmicrat would quickly state that they hadn't said 'kids', rather they had said 'kits'. They meant the extremely rare Haitian beaver! Of course the kits are starving, Haiti has been deforested. Ya, that's the ticket. The kits are starving due to deforestation in Haiti. </sarc>

Wait a sec. Are you trying to tell me that after you cut down a tree, that you can grow another one in its’ place?
That’s just crazy talk!

They cut down a lot of trees to make charcoal. It’s the only fuel many people can use if they don’t have electricity and don’t have access or can’t afford to buy propane or kerosene for cooking, etc.
