Note: I am most definitely NOT Donald Trumps speechwriter, nor am I ever likely to be. Im not a Trump supporter, nor would I under any circumstances vote for Hillary Clinton. I am, however, the co-author of The FairTax Book and I believe that the current flap over Trumps tax status is as phony as they come. If it became my responsibility to craft a response by Trump to this controversy here is what I would put in front of The Donald. Ive written this in the context of an opening statement for Trump at the next debate.
OK Hillary My taxes are news, and I understand that. The way the media has portrayed me and my tax situation I understand it and I also understand that in this debate tonight you are prepared to attack me on this issue. No surprise there.
Its true. For a number of years not sure how many I paid no personal income taxes. There was a legitimate and legal reason for that. A reason that is actually not difficult to understand. I paid no personal income taxes because I OWED no personal income taxes.
So, Secretary Clinton, when you respond to my comments I would very much like to hear if you have ever made a personal decision to pay more personal income taxes than you actually owed. Ever.
Now the media and you have said that I paid NO taxes. That, as you well know, isnt accurate. You know, and I know, that personal income taxes are only part of our tax code.
The New York Times called the ability to apply losses to taxable income a loophole for the rich. It not for the rich. Its for everyone every taxpayer and it is used every year by taxpayers from the bottom to the top of the income spectrum.
Theres a reason our code allows people to offset losses against income. One of the things that encourages entrepreneurs to attempt new ventures ventures that have no guarantee of success ... is their knowledge that any losses they might incur can be offset against future taxes they might owe. The law is designed to encourage business expansion and new start ups. Without this tax advantage perhaps people with the means to start new business enterprises might think it safer just to fall back and invest their money in safe investments and face no chances of large losses.
In the world of entrepreneurship you earn money you lose money if the result is positive, you pay income taxes. If its negative, you dont.
Now, Secretary Clinton if you find this aspect of our tax laws to be bad, and if you win, you can work to change it work for reform we can see what ideas you have and how theyre received by the Wall Street friends who have paid you millions of dollars in speaking fees.
I understand you also called me a failed businessman. How do you measure failure? By the income taxes you paid or by what you have done to grow both your personal and our national economy?
How about job creation. Yes Ive had failures. I failed because I tried. You cant fail at anything you dont attempt. But Ive had successes as well. A CNNMoney analysis has reported that the Trump Organizations have created about 34,000 jobs that can be attributed to my businesses. CNN went to a company called PrivCo that tracks privately held companies. PrivCo says that the Trump Organizations have about 22,450 employees. These people are working in hotels, Golf and other resort facilities, and elsewhere. These are employees who are working, paying taxes, raising families, and fulfilling the American dream.
How many private sector jobs have you created, Secretary Clinton? Dont you think the voters would love to know that? I know I would. In fact, when have YOU ever worked for the private sector? For decades youve been living off the taxpayers in one capacity or another or living off the donations and speech fees of people who were lining up to benefit from any future position of political power you might acquire. Yeah, I guess your foundation had some private sector positions positions created to match up donors with government officials to address their wants and desires.
Oh wait you were in the private sector for a while. You were a lawyer, in Little Rock. The Rose Law Firm, remember them?
The Rose Law Firm was reported to be right in the middle of a giant tax scheme that bilked the U.S. Treasury of what? Millions of dollars in taxes? And there you were, right in the middle of it, Secretary Clinton. You were right there helping to draft the documents used in that tax fraud scheme. Those were the billing records that you hid in the living quarters of the White House the billing records you lied about, under oath, for over two years until they were accidentally discovered by .. what was it, a cleaning lady?
So now its your turn to talk Hillary. Were waiting for your answers. Have you ever voluntarily paid more taxes than you owe? How many private sector jobs have you created? And just what were you doing with those billing records?
Youre turn.
This is great. I hope to hell he reads it.
EVERYBODY knows what Trump should say.
Or should have said. They just never know what he WILL say and that’s why it’s the best election EVAH!!!
You are either a Trump supporter or a PIAPS booster at this point
He should quit equivocating
* * *
I hope he has read this and provides a version in his debate. It is spot on.
Shut up, Neil! You’re no ones speech writer.
Someone leaked Trumps tax records. The Clintons are trying to set up questions for the debates with these leaks. The media goes along to get along.
Something like this would light the witches hair on fire.
Trump has succeeded despite the constant bitching and moaning about his style, words, character, etc from assh*les like Boortz, Medved, Lowry, the two late-night radio morons from Redeye, etc. Why would he listen to these eunuchs now.
That’s not news. Yes someone did, we all know that.
Hillary knows about no guarantee of success - thats why she only enters an arena if she is different from everyone else. Can you say, Cattle Futures which Hillary made a 98:1 killing on? She learned everything she knew about Cattle Futures from The Wall Street Journal. Entirely appropriate, since she knew nothing about Cattle Futures - and The Wall Street Journal didnt publish anything about them, either. Her investment payout was a thinly veiled payoff to the wife of the governor of Arkansas, who had let it be known that she needed $100,000.
He should quit equivocatingHe can't, it's apparently in his blood. His entire "Fairtax" book as well as the Fairtax plan itself is riddled with equivocating language.
That said there's nothing here that Trump doesn't already know. The last thing Trump needs is to follow the advice from some non-believer, a relatively unknown radio clown pretending to be a tax expert's advice.
The Donald is only an approximate answer to America’s political woes. The Donald is not a cure all. But at this point, America doesn’t need a cure all. It needs a credible life preserver. The cure all can come later (and it jolly well isn’t someone like Hillary at any rate).
Joe Walsh Talk Radio Chicago is talking now about how none of the Republican leaders have been at any rallys with Donald Trump, and That Trump in on his own against Hillary and top Democrat leaders who have been on the road with her.
Joe Walsh just said that we need to remember that if he loses to Hillary that when Donald Trump needing the backing of the GOP, they never showed up for him.

Were at a crucial point in this country, and Im excited to take the debate right to listeners throughout Chicagoland and the greater New York metropolitan area via the airwaves. The radio program is a great platform to help grow a freedom movement which is already gaining momentum across the country. I do with this program what I did as a U.S. Congressman speak plainly, speak directly, not worry about political correctness, and engage in respectful, engaging debate with all viewpoints. This is just too important of a time for all of us to do anything less. I look forward to speaking with you each evening and hearing from you.

EVERYBODY knows what Trump should say.
Or should have said.
Debates are tricky things, and so is the rest of a campaign. Some people still vote on the basis of debates, but more and more it is becoming hard to NOT hear about Donald Trump. Donald is looking at all this by instinct. He’s going to get a lot of editorial and comment writers around the country saying basically what Boortz said, even if he doesn’t say it, or say it everywhere.
If Donald gets a robust conversation started that includes facts and not posturing, then it won’t matter that he hasn’t personally addressed every little bitty detail. Donald is an excellent advisor assembler when he means it. Donald is an excellent big picture guy and he knows how to hunt up the detail wonks when he needs them.
He didn’t say he was. Did he?
Well certainly whether or not Trump has said it, it can’t hurt to say it on behalf of a more or less Trumpist vision.
Hillary has to KNOW that her cant is arrant nonsense.
