40 Million Russians To Take Part In "Nuclear Disaster" Drill, Days After US General Warns (TR)

As relations between Russia and the US disintegrate as a result of the escalating proxy war in Syria, which today culminated with Putin halting a Plutonium cleanup effort with the US, shortly before the US State Department announced it would end negotiations with Russia over Syria, tomorrow an unprecedented 40 million Russian citizens, as well as 200,000 specialists from "emergency rescue divisions" and 50,000 units of equipment are set to take part in a four day-long civil defense, emergency evacuation and disaster preparedness drill, the Russian Ministry for Civil Defense reported on its website.

According to the ministry, an all-Russian civil defense drill involving federal and regional executive authorities and local governments dubbed "Organization of civil defense during large natural and man-caused disasters in the Russian Federation" will start tomorrow morning in all constituent territories of Russia and last until October 7. While the ministry does not specify what kind of "man-caused disaster" it envisions, it would have to be a substantial one for 40 million Russians to take part in the emergency preparedness drill. Furthermore, be reading the guidelines of the drill, we can get a rather good idea of just what it is that Russia is "preparing" for.

The website adds that "the main goal of the drill is to practice organization of management during civil defense events and emergency and fire management, to check preparedness of management bodies and forces of civil defense on all levels to respond to natural and man-made disasters and to take civil defense measures." Oleg Manuilov, director of the Civil Defence Ministry explained that the exercise will be a test of how the population would respond to a "disaster" under an "emergency" situation.

Some further details, on the 3-stage, 4 day drill:

I stage: organization of civil defense actions

waste of time.

there is ZERO chance the US under liberal leadership would EVER use nuclear weapons, even in self defense, even if we were attacked with them first.

Something is broken inside liberals minds that wont allow them to defend themselves. Liberals “want” to die.

We’ve interfered in Egypt, Libya and now Syria...... to what end?

You forgot, in Russia's eyes, the most important of all - Ukraine.

Obama/Clinton's ham-handed attempt to split Ukraine out of Russia's orbit met with obvious push-back. Did anyone expect Russia NOT to react as the West attempted to remove Russian access to the Black Sea - a 350 year project for Russia?

As the premier globalist Zbigniew Brzezinski's said: "Without Ukraine, Russia ceases to be a Eurasian empire." Western Progressives are indeed running an empire.

I don’t think Obama has any interest in what’s going on over there. He was in over his head from day one, basically quit his job after the 2010 midterm elections, and has been running out the clock ever since then. That’s why he does nothing but play golf and draw stupid “red lines in the sand” all day, while foreign governments and global corporations run this country through the Clinton Foundation.

Me thinks the flashpoint in Syria is much worse than we are led to believe. ...................................... Kinda like Spain 1936? We didn’t like Franco, but he did become part of NATO and kept Spain out of WW II except for the Blue Division. (Pay back on a limited scale, but as dependable as Italy if he went full scale.) Maybe Assad is a bad guy, but considering the alternative, maybe he’s a better bad guy? Do we really need a war with Russia? What is there to gain for either side. The Russians are closer to being us as we them. We are both multicultural societies compared to the rest of the world. Trump and Putin at the round table may be the answer. There is more to the drill than what is known. Russia will loose, the devastation alone would weaken it, the borders would be over run by all those countries it shares her southern border with. Russia isn’t looking for a war. Containment of Syria isn’t a reason for super powers to destroy each other.

Obama and Kerry screwed things up so bad that Russia has Moscow in shelters and Russia has WITHDRAWN from our nuclear arms treaty. Yet what is our media telling us? Trump used a tax loophole in the 90s. Most Americans will be totally blindsided by the bright flashes not having a clue what’s going on and what the Dems have done to us.

This whole mess falls in Obama’s lap. He allowed Russia to reenter the politics of the Middle East. Something that hadn’t happened in many decades.

60 Minutes had a story on the Nuclear Triad and The were several Generals that thought that Russia might actually think a Tactical Nuke War is winnable. So this would be part of that plan

We had a Secretary of State who had SAP programs on a personal computer. You would be foolish to believe the Russians don’t know EVERYTHING concerning our strategic ambitions for the world.

The newsworthy part of the 60 minutes piece was that these same crazed Generals, Breedlove was one, believe they can wage a conventional war with Russia and that it can remain conventional and end in a Russian defeat or backdown.
They act deeply offended that Russia might nuke someone who only wants to have a conventional fight.

Our Generals are the psycho Lemay reincarnated.

Containment of Syria isn’t a reason for super powers to destroy each other

**************
With all due respect, I think you are confusing the America of old with the current rendition of an Obama led America. I simply do not believe that, nearing the end of his term in office, he would respond to any Russian aggression. He is after all, the (unworthy) recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize and does not like the thought of American power. He already thinks we have too much power and influence and has done everything he could to diminish that.

No, I cannot imagine any circumstances under which he would act to defend this country. Can you? I not trying to be argumentative, just pointing out that he is unlikely to confront the Russians. As a case in point, he did nothing about Russian aggression in Crimea. He has done nothing to stop Chinese expansionism and island building in the South China Sea. His “red line” in Syria was meaningless. The Iranians captured American sailors and he did nothing. And those are just a few examples.

Obama believes in weakness, not strength. Putin has nothing to fear.
