NY Attorney General sends cease and desist order to Trump Foundation

The New York Attorney General’s office served the Donald J. Trump Foundation with a cease and desist order on Monday, ordering it to stop soliciting funds because it does not have the proper certification. “While we remain very concerned about the political motives behind AG Schneiderman’s investigation, the Trump Foundation nevertheless intends to cooperate fully with the investigation. Because this is an ongoing legal matter, the Trump Foundation will not comment further at this time,” said Trump campaign spokeswoman Hope Hicks in a statement.

He was not supposed to ask for donations for the veterans the day he skipped the debate. That’s the main reason for the stop letter. His foundation was not registered in New York as required by law. That is their reasoning.
