U.S. political leaders of both parties argue that destroying Islamic State is Americas top priority in the Middle East. In reality, thats not nearly as important as confronting the challenge posed by Iran. The nuclear deal that went into effect a year ago may have postponed the danger of an Iranian nuclear bomb, but the multifaceted threat of a militaristic, messianic Iran 80-million strong is much more menacing to Western interests than the Sunni thugs and murderers of Raqqah and Mosul. [ ]
From Tehrans perspective, it gained much more than it gave up. In exchange for postponing its military nuclear project, it achieved the lifting of many economic sanctions, an end to its political isolation and the loosening of restrictions on its ballistic missile program.
And out of the P5+1s exaggerated fear of taking any steps that might give the Iranians an excuse to scuttle the deal, Tehran won a lot more too. This includes wide latitude to advance its influence throughout the region as it no longer fears a U.S.-led military option.

They’ve been “invasion proof” without a nuke for several decades, so I am not buying that. Is Obama doing the right thing by giving them teeth, therefore?
No kraut. It wasn’t a good deal. But im just as worried about all the weapons we sell the evil SOB Saudis. This article is just more prewar battlefield shaping. “Iran bad, we so need to remove Assad”.
The government (except Trump) wants a war with Assad. Its so transparent. Nothing more.
As has been pointed out in another post, the anti-Iran forces want to take out Assad in Syria and IMHO are among the Russia haters blaming Putin for problems.
Some say the reason Assad has to be removed is so that the Sunni Gulf Arabs can pipe their oil through Syria into Turkey and onto the EU nations.
The EU, US and Turkey are all in on this and messing with Syria right now towards that end according to the people who see the situation that way.
Is the drama about how bad Iran is part of the drama in taking out Iran’s ally Syria?
Is Israel in cahoots with the Sunnis, the US, the EU or playing its own game on the sidelines.
Big promoters of the Syrian war like John McCain seem to be featured speakers at AIPAC (Israel Lobby) meetings in Washington.
I am most definitely pro-Israel, but not pro-political establishment in any country of the world.
Something smells in this Middle Eastern part of the world and all the emotional talk about Syria and Iran comes up against the other things I have brought up in my posts in this thread.
So... in your mind, we should all just go ahead and follow what some Israeli defense minister says we should. No thanks.
So the answer to Assad’s ouster is to bolster Assad’s greatest ally. Hmm. Which is what the EU wanted all along; remember that the other members of the P5+1 aside from the US, UK and Russia are Red China, France and Germany (who is the “plus one” nation).
this article gives no reason why we continue to support the anti0Christian Saudis against Assad. Assad is a monster but the alternative is worse
May 18, 2008: Iran, Cuba, Venezuela, these countries are tiny compared to the Soviet Union. They don't pose a serious threat to us. ...they spend 1/100th of what we spend on the military. I mean, if Iran ever tried to pose a serious threat to us, they wouldn't stand a chance.

The real 0bama goal is to unite a nuclear armed Shia with ISIS / Sunni as ‘footsoldiers’ in his globalist dreams.
The global caliphate will not succeed until the various sects, which kill each other off if they don’t have any infidels to torture and kill, unite
The Baraka Hussein 0bama sees himself as sort of a 12th-Imam-second-coming-of-Marx, and hopes to be made Caliph of the world if he succeeds.
Being Sunni is probably not enough, it is the Wahhabists as we always hear.
Maybe Pakistan is not Wahhabi. Anyway, the Saudis can use Pakistan’s nukes if they are threatened, there seems to be an agreement.
In that vein, no, the ruling government in Riyadh, does not seem to want to aim nukes at us or Israel;
So, it is a judgement call but I think as someone said here, ISIS Wahhabism is the more immediate threat at the least.
Go away moron. People laugh at you. We are talking about Iran and ISIS. Not a word has been spoken about Russia here.
You talk a lot. So tell me about when you served this nation? Tell us when you fought for this flag. STFU one track mind foreigner.
I’ll wait.
Yeah, and the guy whispering the rationalization to you? Some Saudi prince?
I don’t see that Iran is particularly pro-Christian themselves. And there is that Twelver nihilism to boot. That doesn’t excuse the Saudis; but it’s a false choice between the two, and to think there’s a choice is to fall for the establishment propaganda, especially Obama’s manipulations.
And as for Ba’ath Christians, they sold their souls for their form of Arab National Socialism and an evil alliance with both Sunni and Alawite Muslims. I’ve read their manifesto. It will not end well.
They aren’t pro Christian. But in Iran you can be a Christian or a Jew. restricted and oppressed...you bet.
But in Saudi Arabia you can be beaten, flogged, and possibly executed for it.
No synagogues, no churches in Saudi Arabia or ISIS, or Gulf State land.
China views itself as the leader of Asia. It bitterly resents when non Asians especially Americans exert diplomatic, economic and military pressure in Asia. Americans should remember that Japan once saw itself in that role. They saw British, French, Dutch and American political and economic control in Malaysia, Indonesia, India, the Philippines, and China a source of humiliation and shame. The Japanese people were rallied to war to rid Asia of non Asian influence. Today China sees itself in that role. It views Iran as a reliable source of oil and gas and Iran’s 80,000,000 citizens as consumers for its export oriented economy. The Chinese bitterly resented American coercive policies in the area. They would have publicly postured in the event of serious American losses in the Gulf, but privately they would ave been joyous about an American humiliation much the way the Arab street was after 9/11.America in the end has very few real friends. It has only interests. would
You friggin idiot. Russia and Iran are together in all this. As if you didn't know, Putin butt kisser that you are.
As for serving in the military, since when was that a confirmation of one's loyalty or patriotism? John Fonda Kerry served. Charlie 'The Red' Rangel served. Jeremiah 'G-D America' Wright served, Harry Reid served. And Benedict Arnold served.
Peter Hitchens Sunday Oct. 2nd column leads his blog and in the middle of it he comments on Syria.
http://hitchensblog.mailonsunday.co.uk
Part of his comment:
“If a small army of Islamist terror fanatics makes its base in a crowded city, and will not let women and children leave, it is very hard to know what to do. For instance, the Iraqi army was faced with this problem in 2014 when it sought to recapture the city of Fallujah from Jihadists. Nouri-al-Maliki, then President of Iraq and so the West’s ally, used barrel bombs to fight ISIS terrorists in Fallujah. Pro-ISIS propaganda made much of the civilian deaths, but I don’t recall the USA, or the BBC, or the moralizing choir who now emote over Aleppo and shout “war-crimes,” saying much. Nor do we hear at all from those moralists about Saudi Arabia’s rather savage little war now going on in Yemen (using British munitions) in which more than 2,000 civilians are said to have died. There’s a similar problem over the severe criticisms of the Syrian government made by the USA’s diplomats and their mouthpiece, the BBC....”
It's only scum-b Putinistas (like you) and their know-nothing/stupid follow-alongs that try to dismiss the FACTS I provide.
In Iran you can be a dhimmi, just like in Saudi Arabia. Just ask Pastor Abedini. We can also ask some of those that Obama paid ransom to Iran for.
You have quite a mouth, always acting like you are saving the world from Russia, Iran, and whoever you think of that day ..... and you never served a day in uniform against them or anyone else.
Typical loudmouth, full of answers.....for other people to go do.
Kerry at least WAS in Vietnam. Rangel was awarded a Bronze Star for combat in Korea. They have a right to their opinion. You as an ignorant foreigner should just STFU. Your old country beefs fascinate you, but you bore us.
