Trumps populist campaign is fueled by working-class anger about unfair trade, an issue the Democrats need to reclaim
The Democratic Party could have blocked the rise of Donald Trump years ago if it had just listened.
The story of Trumps amazingly successful movement is also the story of how Democrats turned their backs on their working-class roots and sided with the elites on the crucial economic question of our times: Who would win from globalization, and who would lose?
The facts are stark. Since 1994, when the North American Free Trade Agreement went into effect and the U.S. began the process of lowering tariffs on Chinese imports, the U.S. trade deficit has ballooned from about $100 billion to about $500 billion a year. Since then, U.S. manufacturing jobs have fallen by about 5 million, and inequality has worsened, with the richest Americans capturing almost all of the income growth....

Thanks for that. It’s amazing how far left the Democrats have gone in fifty years, and Humphrey was considered a radical liberal for his time. Today, he would be a right-wing extremist in his party.
“There are no other struggles.”
There never were...
Trump is saying what Buchanan said back in 2000. He was right then but nobody listened. Kudos to Trump for grabbing the spotlight
I believe that pat Buchanan was a voice in the wilderness 20 years ago and if he was younger it would be him running against Hillary not Trump. I don’t think that trump really wanted the job he just was tired of seeing America flushed down the drain. I think once he decided to run then he wanted the job but if he felt that competent leadership would of been running against Hillary he would of rather stay home and tweeted about it all.
If Trump can get taxes lowered on corporations and small businesses and get some better trade agreements, this economy will respond well. Cut a few regulations killing coal and hampering other industries and there will be plenty of jobs.
Humphrey was a different type of Democrat. So was Patrick Moynihan...
Buchanan was a bulldog. Trump is a Rottweiler.
Hey dipshit. Quit posting over sized images.
I haven't heard that complaint in years!
My PC and HP 2408h had no problem with that graphic.
Way back then it was bandwidth. What's your problem nowadays?
The democrats don’t have any good issues.
The Whig Party was the antecedent of the modern Republican party. The vast majority of Northern Whigs became Republicans and the majority of Republicans were former Northern Whigs.
So comparing Lincoln to Reagan in the regard is not on point. Reagan was wrong and saw the light thanks to having to deal with Hollyweird commies, Lincoln was always in the right party.
It clears away all the clutter and lets you get moving.
When viewed on an iPad, the image dominates and all the posts are reduced in microscopic size. That’s ok if you don’t care about anyone else.
Nice respect FRiend./s
I hope you know I do care. I just thought about how much things change, yet they realy stay the same. Large graphics are a problem again but for a totally different reason. ;^)
Oh, I think using the iPad fad was your first problem. I am one of those guys that has always hated Apple.
