Maybe they can declare "Muslim" a racial category. In Yugoslavia "Muslim" was considered an ethnic group (primarily referring to the Bosnian Muslims and the other Slavic-speaking Muslims, since there was a separate category for the Albanians).
If Middle Eastern becomes a race, how much Middle Eastern ancestry does one need to qualify for racial preferences? Would the one drop rule apply?
According to FamilyTreeDNA, I have 7% Middle Eastern ancestry. This probably dates back to the Neolithic period--immigrants from the Middle East are thought to have brought agriculture to Europe. But that DNA test may be a good investment if I can start benefiting from the government's racial preferences game.
When someone says criticizing Muslims or Islam is not racist because it is not a race, now the feds want to essentially make it such.
Actually Spaniards and Portuguese are placed in he Latino/Hispanic category even though they are European and very much the same as Italians, French etc.i e European caucasians.And North Africans are not categorized as African Americans. Some years ago one of my 8th graders in Queens was pure blood Egyptian, daughterof Egyptian immigrants. She wanted a specific high school program where preferences were give to hispanics and african americans. i told her mom to indicate african american on the application. She was turned down because the powersvgat be said the term could only apply to blacks.

The environmentalits been exceptionally busy with doing the same thing with animals, dividing one species that interbreeds successfully but isn’t endangered into 6 or 7 new ones with superficial differences — all of which are then defined as endangered and worthy of special research funding and protected status.
It’s like claiming people with freckles are a different race from people without freckles.

Over the years I have had several people from Japan and Taiwan say that Arabs and Persians most certainly are “white.”
Obama wants to make them a ‘race’ for legal reasons: civil rights, etc. That’s it.

Ok, using that obviously intellectually superior logic I am now offically a Texas-American.
I expect to have my unique cultural aspects and beliefs absolutely respected and if they are not I will become extremely offended and must be allowed to express my outrage as I see fit.
I will only live subject to Texas Law no matter where I go and must be allowed my cultural practices without any degree of interference whatsoever.
If anyone or thing violates these cultural practices they shall be subject to punishment of my specification within the guidelines of Texas civil and criminal law.
Oh yes, one more thing, everyone in my neighborhood is self-policing, therefor there is no need for local law enforcement to patrol there and outsiders (non Texas-Americans) are not to enter the neighborhood.
