Maybe they can declare "Muslim" a racial category. In Yugoslavia "Muslim" was considered an ethnic group (primarily referring to the Bosnian Muslims and the other Slavic-speaking Muslims, since there was a separate category for the Albanians).
If Middle Eastern becomes a race, how much Middle Eastern ancestry does one need to qualify for racial preferences? Would the one drop rule apply?
According to FamilyTreeDNA, I have 7% Middle Eastern ancestry. This probably dates back to the Neolithic period--immigrants from the Middle East are thought to have brought agriculture to Europe. But that DNA test may be a good investment if I can start benefiting from the government's racial preferences game.
