Received a message from his wife that Dale Reed has passed away. Dale was a long-term conservative activist and a FReeper since nearly the beginning of Free Republic. He was one of the founding members of our Southern California Chapter. Dale and his wife and several members from Southern California were present at the 1998 picnic and meeting in Fresno where our activism efforts through chapters were basically born.
Dale was a good man, a patriot and great supporter of FR and our conservative activism efforts and will be greatly missed.
Prayers for his wife and family.
May his soul rest in peace.
God bless.
I am very sorry to hear this Jim.
Dale had a home across the way in the same small valley I live in. (1/4 mile across) He hadn’t lived there for years, but I think of him and it often. He still owned it the last I heard.
He was out there with us on the street many times. He always had a great smile and had a very nice wife I met on a number of occasions.
He was one of our members in the Los Angeles (Southern California) chapter of Free Republic.
He explained a number of things about Glendale to me. He had lived here as an adult long before I came back to live in the town.
Thank you for letting us know.
This really saddens me.

I liked his last post in which he observed from personal experience that unlike in the U.S., most nations (in practice) have a “guilty until proven innocent” legal system. He recalled a time when he crashed his small plane in Mexico and was held under house arrest for three weeks.
Dale evidently lived life to the fullest.
Prayers up for Dale and all of his family...may he receive the blessing of the Holy Spirit.
Dale was featured on ABC News in a February 13, 2001 report when FReepers launched a successful boycott of companies hiring Bill Clinton for speeches.
The video is not with the article, but here is an excerpt:
The investigations still dogging former President Clinton more than three weeks after the end of his term are beginning to make a dent in his earnings.
A few days after another financial giant acknowledged it made a "mistake" by paying Clinton about $125,000 to speak last week, the UBS-Warburg financial services company announced it has scrapped negotiations to have the former president address a conference in April.

The spokesman also acknowledged the decision to take a pass on Clinton came after Morgan Stanley Dean Witter faced criticism from clients for hosting Clinton last week. After Clinton spoke to a Morgan Stanley conference in Florida last week, some Clinton critics cut their ties to the firm.Investor Dale Reed, for example, told ABCNEWS he transferred a $35,000 account to another company.
"If they pay this man huge sums to speak in front of them," Reed said, "there's going to be a backlash against their products and companies."
In an e-mail to investors apologizing for the Clinton appearance, Morgan Stanley CEO Philip J. Purcell said the Clinton invite was a mistake.
Prayers for his wife and family.
RIP, Dale Reed.
Dale,
Thank you for your contributions to keeping the Faith alive. I will do my best to keep passing the torch on.
God speed and God Bless!
Cheers to all of you the Greatest of Americans.
May God be merciful.
RIP, Freeper.
RIP Dale Reed

Sad to hear. We lost a lot of very wonderful FReepers this year. Prayers for Dale and his family.
May he rest in God’s eternal peace.
He knew conservatism in every core of his being...and he spoke strongly and passionately about his beliefs.
I know him from the freeper fund-raising cruises I organized as "Bahama Mama". He not only posted, he participated!
Condolences to wife and family.....and Bon Voyage to a great American.
Leni (fellow classmate '98).
I had not noticed him in recent threads.
May he and his family be in God’s care at this time.
RIP Dale
Prayers for his family.
I followed his posts for 18 years... RIP.

Prayers and condolences to his family.
Sad news. R.I.P. Prayers up for his family.
